I started watching the anime first and found out there was no season 2, so I decided to read the manga (I’m guessing the anime was to promote the manga). It’s a really good story imo, many compared it to classroom of the elite, though I haven’t watched that anime so I can’t comment on that.
My honest thoughts on this manga is that it’s an excellent read. Yuichi is a well written character. His traumatic childhood lead him to become a shit person. He’s evil, but not a monster. He clearly valued his friends and didn’t give a rats ass about money. He clearly didn’t care about having a good reputation; as long as he finally achieved his goal of ending the fucked up twisted game that the “Tomodachi Game” was. It wasn’t explicitly mentioned, but my thoughts are that he felt a sense of responsibility for the shit show that created this monstrosity of a game, and he was willing to sacrifice his own life for the cause. Obviously he was still a total jackass and a mean motherfucker, but that’s to be expected given his past and the man who raised him.
As for Tenji, I feel like they downplayed the fact that brother literally stalked Shiho just because he thought that she was the reason for his father’s death. Overall he was pretty decent and there was nothing else that he did that could’ve been considered a crime, unless we count the second game early on in the manga or the fact that he was the reason why the group were even applied to the Tomodachi Game. This raised a question of why they would completely change this point later on in the manga. Tenji was the one who stole the 2 million yen to get the group applied into Tomodachi game after deliberately setting up the friend group to meet up with fake letters, but then this is completely forgotten near the end chapters? Yutori claiming that SHE, even Shinji had set this entire shit up. But then it’s found out that Shibe’s dad is the mastermind behind it all?! It doesn’t make sense, because Tenji’s dad was killed after Tenji told him about the game, which means that Shibe’s dad would be responsible for assassinating him. Honestly, I feel like this part was a mess and that it could’ve been explained a lot clearer as it only left me questioning more than nodding in understanding.
Yutori was honestly just a scum bitch ngl, nothing else to add here, I don’t even know what reason she would have to be so horrible towards her mother. Like tf did she do to you? It’s your dad that was a piece of shit, and he’s already dead! And none of the traumatic shit she experienced was the fault of her mother, it was the other people around her. She was a victim of abuse and CSA, and clearly she ended up just as fucked in the head as Yuichi.
Shiho, she’s just there honestly. The most “normal” one in the group I’d say, there isn’t even much to say about her. She’s definitely the least fucked up one and the only one who wasn’t acting shitty despite experiencing a kidnapping and the deteriorating relationship between her parents.
Shibe…! He was also just a regular dude, most likely dealing with mommy issues and his dad being a piece of shit (direct cause of the mindfuck experienced by Yuichi and Taizen, but most importantly Yuka or whatever her name was). I have one problem, and it’s the fact that it was literally stated that he was in fact about to SA Shiho… and I am strongly disturbed by how it was just swept under the rug and that he’s just a “stupid wittle little idiot boy”
The FL had long black hair and was gloomy with a medical condition. The ML had blonde hair. They were married and had known each other since childhood. They got married because FL as a child wanted it. When they got married as adults she didn’t really care about him anymore, so the ML was trying to get her to fall in love with him again even though he didn’t have feelings either (I think because he wanted revenge?)
How do you wake up one day and just come up with a story this jumbled? I don’t know if this is categorized as horror, but it definitely feels like it is. Everyone in that household needs therapy and the daughter needs to be locked up.

This was kinda fun to read until how they viewed the idols and the whole abuse situation.
You are telling me that just because the father works a lot, his abuse is justified? That because it was his first time being a father, it was justified? What kinda fucked up thinking is that. Oh, and the psycho bitch mother. She blamed everything on Jooa and was overall the worst mother ever. At least for the dad they tried to create some half assed reason why he was so damn abusive, but they didn’t even create one for the mom. Haha, oopsie, just some family misunderstanding that happened to go to such extreme levels that it required me to almost beat my own daughter with a golf club. What the actual fuck? They were clearly favoriting the son over the daughter and would neglect her and both verbally, physically, and mentally abuse her. And you are telling me all of this is ok just because he is a hard working father and god knows why the mother did what she did. They just threw her under the rug and pretended like saying sorry would help. This abusive family section of the webcomic really threw me off and I was seriously disgusted.
Not to mention how they view idols. Candy had a point when it came to how shitty idols have it. The fact that just because they engage in romantic/intimate relationships behind closed doors, they are frowned upon and their whole career is done for. I get that Candy was being a total bitch towards the other member of their group, but she didn’t deserve all the hate for it. She was being unreasonable and stuck up, but 5 whole years of training just to become an idol, only for it to be ruined because of something like that. She should have gotten the opportunity to apologize and explain her actions and feelings. They infantilize the crap outta these idols and expect them all to be angels sent from above with a purity and innocence level of 100. The parasocial relationship between the fans and the band members is unhealthy and should not be normalized like this, and you know what, Yohan had all the rights to be disgusted by Jooa. If I found out that someone was drawing lewd/suggestive drawings of me with another member, I would lose my shit. That was a pretty nasty thing to do as a fan.
Personally, I think that this webcomic would have been better IF they were able to incorporate the abusive family issues in a better way. The fact that they are able to switch bodies and get a feel of how hard and miserable the life of the other person is, is a cool idea. My issue is that all of Jooa’s issues are resolved, but Yohan is still suffering because of his mother. I thought that they would solve the issues at the same time, together. But it took 30+ chapters just to fix Jooa’s family issues, imagine how long it will take to fix Yohan’s. I hope they don’t add some stupid love triangle shit in here or prolong the whole suicide attempt of Candy to cause unwanted drama. This will stretch the comic even more and delay the plot. I don’t think this was necessary for the plot to proceed, if their only issue is their shit life and family.

Reinhardt is trash, Wilhelm is also trash. They are both very much trash.
Oh boy, do I have some things to say about these two.
Wilhelm raped Reinhardt and lied to her about Dietrich. Was the lie understandable? Yes, as he was afraid of Reinhardt leaving him for Dietrich, but was it the right thing to do? No. Wilhelm, from a very young age, was abused, forced into war, tortured, enslaved, raped and used, this includes both his past and current life. He grew up with no words of affection, no affectionate touches, no words of love, no nothing. Only when he met Reinhardt again in his current life as a child, did he experience those things. Wilhelm had grown an obsession with Reinhardt already in his previous life, so this is why I do not agree with the people saying that Reinhardt groomed Wilhelm. He was already an adult in his past life. These factors can all contribute to a severely mentally unstable human being, which is what perfectly describes Wilhelm. He is drunk with obsession and possession. His obsessive and manipulative behaviour is very nasty, especially whenever he would go back to the portrait painting of Reinhardt as a child. And that one time he jerked it to the painting… Need I say more? He is obviously in some dire need of professional help, this man NEEDS therapy immidietaly
Now as for Reinhardt. This woman is truly a specimen. She grew up with love and affection her entire life, only for it to be just recently crushed when her dad died and her fiancé being a total dick. She used Wilhelm for her own benefit, for revenge. She took him in as a child, raised him, fed him, taught him how to speak, all the things a mother would do for their child, and you are telling me she fell in love with him? For Wilhelm’s case I understand, as he had met her prior to the current life their living, but Reinhardt hardly remembers. She committed to this relationship despite raising Wilhelm as if he was her own, and had absolutely no problem with kissing and partaking in sexual acts with him. That is disgusting. She is not innocent, she also has her flaws, Wilhelm ain’t the only one. One thing that irritates me about this woman is how she treated the son over the daughter. You are telling me that you are unable to raise your son that was born out of love, but fully capable of taking care of your daughter that was born out of rape? I am not saying that she should neglect the daughter, but as she is a child born out of sexual assault, you would think that Reinhardt would find it harder to raise her, rather than the son that was actually born out of love. Not only is she a horrible mother, but she is a horrible person too.
The only person here that I actually like is Dietrich. The only mentally stable character, the only one that isn’t fucked up in the head, and the only sensible one.
This may be the goofiest and most childish shit ever, but i like it bcz of that
