Hmm I think it's cuz thr story startrf out feeling light-hearted and jokey between the characters so when it suddenly turned serious and the rape scene was included, it felt like a smack to our face. Like, ok yes, these are mafias and cartels so that move and worse things done actually makes complete sense, however, the story started off being light despite that so it kinda felt like 2 genres mixed but not mixed well.
