He's not stupid academically, but as a future lord, expect nothing from him

He did in LN by Part 4... although he had some fall back, due to his aides later on, he became pretty responsible.

The good thing about wilfred is he accepted it., not like Veronica. In the end charlote will be the next Aub.! Oops I don’t want to spoil the story. ! But anyway can’t wait for more update.

He is a responsible person, his problem is that he is easily influence by those around him

He's not just an ordinary child though, he is the son of the archduke. what I mean by influence is that even after entering the royal academy, he still listen to his aides without a doubt

A child is a child regardless of noble status. And as they mentioned in the LN, the closest advisers young nobles have and the most contact they have is not their parents but their aides. This is why they choose the aides for their children very carefully because they will be the most trusted people of their noble kids. Also, the aides are very cunning - see this IRL, too - and are good in planting seeds little by little as they are playing the long game.

In ASOIAF/Game of Thrones, this was front and center, and the nobles were adults. Imagine how much easier it is for aides to manipulate children.

yes its the accumulation of a year, they stocked it up and released it all in one go
