So the kid was a sacrifice from feudal time to the forest god, look at his clothes in chapter 1. Then the clothes started to modernize, signaling decades changing. The Wolf god fell in love, but he wanted the boy to be free and have a normal life one day, so he raised him and protected until the time is “right”, but the time was never right. Look at the newspapers flashbacks in chapter 6, world war and such, wolf god wanted to keep the boy from harm so he could never let him go. The boy probably realized at some point that quite some time has passed but living with the wolf god is exactly what he wished for, he didn’t mind if the two of them were together for eternity. Last chapter was wolf man first and last effort to let the boy go, which he did, experiencing society and growing up and aging normally, but this time he chose to come back.I think it’s beautiful. I understand the mixed opinions about grooming and what not, but I don’t view this story that way. Wolf god kept him a child and raised him innocently for 100+ years, it didn’t turn into desire until the boy started to reach maturity despite aging much more slowly. That’s when the wolf god let him go, hoping he’d make his own choices even if it’s not with him.

Honestly there’s two different types of thoughts people have with this chapter, 1 - is liking the MC but not excusing him “back chatting” or “spreading rumours”, and the other is getting a uderstanding of the MCs point of view. I think some people might of missed the point, he was growing up in a super honest childhood with his mum always saying what on her mind. So the flash back was a growing point to show why he’s socially outcasted by himself, or always people pleasing. Some people are saying he should of know better or understood why he can’t say peoples thoughts. The whole point of that Flashback was to show why he is like how he is, and how he now knows not to tells people thought. So we shouldn’t say he should of know better, that was learning point to him,( I guess)
I think people also missed the part that him being honest is actually better for the people and that’s shown when the two friends that fought stayed friends, and he became and outcast, ultimately showing that he shouldered all his problems. those “secrets” he told was bound to come out, his friends are mad at him cause it’s not his place to say, but the two friends overall became friends again so he was left out. so what it overall showes is that the MC was blamed for the argument and that’s was an easy out for them.
