what a disappointment. I was quite enjoying this for the first 30 or so chapters, but it went downhill so fast. Clearly, this was an adaptation of a novel and it shows in a bad way. I tapped out at ch 105. Issue 1: art. the art is pretty decent. The issue is that, just like most manhwa artists, they don’t understand that twelve-year-olds are not the same height as four-year-olds. The fl is supposed to be twelve, but she looks and acts like she is four to six years old. this continues. when they are fourteen and fifteen, they are still drawn in the exact same way and then, suddenly, on a random chapter, they look twenty years old. so, now they look so much older than they actually are and now they gave the FL a huge chest and keep showing her cleavage. weird and there was no time skip, the artist just randomly realized that they were drawing them way too young and then changed it abruptly. Issue 2: repetitive. they keep repeating things over and over. we got it. Tori is jealous of FL bc she doesn’t want Rupert to change. but they keep repeating it every few chapters and FL will react in surprise every time… as though she hadn’t heard it before… so many times. we get it. FL is now cherished by ml/one of his people, but does she get it? she makes that realization every 8 chapters and acts surprised by it. you already knew that. Issue 3: inconsistency. this is so inconsistent. She told her dad that she had died and gone back in time. For some reason, he immediately believed her. he told her brother and her brother came to her and asked her about it and said he believed her. Later, he wanted to double-check something and she got mad at him bc she thought he didn’t blindly believe her. Some time after that, they talk about it again, he wholeheartedly believes her, but then she is exasperated and treats him weirdly, saying that she didn’t expect that he would just believe her. even though she got mad at him not blindly believing her. also, does Tori like the ml or not? does Tori hate FL or not? bc she keeps switching between it. Issue 4: vague and bad storytelling. It is a serious problem if I cannot understand what is going on in this story unless I read the copious amounts of translator notes that have to give context to every single panel bc the author is skipping over so many things that it is genuinely incoherent. It’s so bad. Also, it said the reason she was killed or whatever was due to her extravagance, but that doesn’t make sense bc she was always (and still remains) very bland and plain and never dresses up. Also, she is inconsistent with if she feels bad for ml or if she doesn’t. If she hates ml or not. Whether he might have had his reasons or not. All in a way that feels unintentionally inconsistent rather than showing her internal conflict between what she previously experienced and what she is currently experiencing. It’s just bad writing. Also, that translator is so gross bc why are you calling a fourteen-year-old "sexy"???
