It’s starting to make sense why the female lead is the way she is towards having a child and during her pregnancy as a mother myself who has two children it’s so hard when your family only projects at the child’s important in your not or your needs or your feelings it works the way you see things and if you don’t have a way to vent or if you don’t have anyone to talk to you about how you feel and realize that it’s normal and then you feel ostracized and it creates a lot of resentment and anger I’m not saying what she did was right because it wasn’t but it makes sense why she turned out the way she did towards her own child
Her older sister was stuck at the castle and couldn't visit often. Her mom was stuck worried about her dad since he was sick. We didn't see her get any visits from her sister in law. Her friends are probably all still unmarried and babyless at this time based on what she has said in other chapters. The servants all like cautioning her to be careful about the baby...
Damn, she needed support from other women. She needed assurances and understanding from other women. But seems to have gotten very little due to their circumstances.

Same. I get it. My daughter is just now one and yeah. Pregnancy sucked. Everyone acted like it was the bestest thing ever but all I can remember is feeling nauseous, and tired, and more tired. I cant imagine doing it as an 18 year old, who only got married and had a baby because she had no other choice. I get that she wasn’t the best mother, but I can also relate to the feeling of people expecting you to stop living your own life because you have a child. I adore my daughter, but sometimes I just wanna read a book and drink some wine.
Yeah that what I’m saying like this starts off portraying her as just a neglectful shittie mom but only now do we see the build up that let to even now women don’t share nearly enough information about our body’s and what child birth and motherhood is like much less all the ins and out of it if people actually shared all these details if would be so hard to navigate these things and that with us having so much access to info now imagine then when talking about this stuff just didn’t happen at all only doctors knew
