I also did not expected this ending. Also the idea of making the chapter from a characters pov is genius. It also seems so realistic! in many high-school-romance-mangas every one ends up with their high school sweetheart. but in real life you also get to know new people, fall in love again, and often marry a partner they met later on. For me, Ao no Flag is truly a masterpiece <3
