I loved Seo-an so clearly saying nothing has been resolved, but it's a happy ending because with Woo-won by his side, he feels okay through it all. I feel a lot of manhwa try to express the same sentiment but readers are left with questions instead, like "wait what about xyz?" It doesn't feel rushed nor prolonged, just very real and sweet, like yep, reality is messed up but as far as our love story is concerned, we have reached a happy conclusion #peace

I like how Ryder handled the Mori's fight situation. Walked in, heard the unbiased story and simply made Mori lower his head in apology. No apology from Ryder himself (Miria might've done otherwise and I would still support it, I just stan how even as a parent Ryder stays Ryder XD), didn't lecture Mori or anything, as if it was Mori's bad in THIS situation. I do believe Ryder didn't want to get on the bad side of the teachers so didn't escalate, which is reasonable, but I love how he didn't "butter" them up either, he came, he ate, he left ~ (Tackling language barrier with candy for the kids was smooth too - You could see the apology in the act)

And the fact that Mori is smiling when they are leaving, Ryder probably just gave him a small "That was wrong but hey, good to know you can fight mah guy" kind of talk and even if he didn't you don't see a hint of "enabling the bad behaviour".

I love Ryder. Hehe

Just a fleeting thought
The son who's calm and visually ressembles the dad, he and the uke are a sweet/cute ship in my mind, like, it's a nice break for my mind from that... thing...

I low-key want to know more about Jian Yi's parents... They looked like such a sweet couple, just them on random days doing mundane stuff would be so wholesome (bittersweet too)

I suspect that both Yi's & Tian's dads are in the mafia business.

Love Jiwoo but I'd like it if Noona stepped up for this... Cause like, that's her brother. I don't know if they're close but Noona is the boss of Korean association something right? Shouldn't she stand up if her people are hurt? And of course, I know it's not Noona's fault / responsibility to deal with Jurion's obsession, but I can see Kayden or Pluton or Kartein joining to help Noona. I think Jiwoo might level up with Gestella's force control but otherwise, I do agree with mommy he's overestimating himself here... Hope the rest of the gang is informed and talk Jiwoo out. And would be nice for Jiwoo to see how Noona kicks em' butts XD

    GestellasBaby March 28, 2026 5:33 pm

Honestly i do hope what you want happens but considering Jiyoung's position it'll be difficult for her to move especially bcos of who the opponent is. Noona is the president of her group plus representative awakener of SK plus the balance of power is currently unstable plus even if he's bastard he's still disciple of top10 so she can't just make any selfish move that might later endanger their position.

While with Jiwoo, he isn't in a position to worry about, only thing is that he's visibly weaker than that bastard. Tho i think if he ends up fighting it'll different from the usual spar. I remember Jiwoo is usually calculative and holds back a bit when sparring but that one time with loser Duke back at the world academy betrayal arc, he abandons calculations and goes all out when he attacks. Sure that as usual it'll be a difficult fight but even i would punch without remorse if my friend got hurt by someone undeserving.

I mean sure, none of this would've happened if Theone just did as told, but it still messes me up that she just... Died. Idk if it's because I saw her like a brat/kid. Iodore not standing up for her either kinda made me feel what Kayden, Pluto and Kartein feel about the Top 10 too, like, man that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

    whattaWonderfulWorld February 4, 2026 3:29 am

I think Theone is not really a kid, right? He might look young because of his power level. But if we look at her reaction to Jiyoung's power, calling her 'young' we can assume he is atleast few year s older than Jiyoung if not whole decades older.

    Carrot February 4, 2026 4:22 am

True, I was saying kid in comparison to Iodore or Garas - kind of young.

(To the top 10, age-wise Jinyoung ain't a kid, he a baby XD)

I really admire this manhwa for one thing: The fact that EY said "this is your last chance" to TJ and it felt... So... Real? We know EY ain't joking around, if TJ hurts him or his brother he's gonna unleash hell (even if heartbroken) while we know TJ really is that scared of messing up again.

But, I really admire how TJ interpreted "this is your last chance" as "This is my last chance to make EY the happiest man on earth", not "I'll spend the rest of my life showing remorse" (kind of? XD) TJ is almost paranoid about hurting EY but from my perspective, this truly is the best act of repentance one could ask for. He's not begging for EY's forgiveness, nor is he keeping a metric whether he gave EY more happiness than pain. His life mission is to make EY happy and his own life mission is to never forget what big an asshole he was to EY without EY knowing (By which I mean he's not looking for pity. It's like he knows he's going to hell, but he's gonna ensure EY's going to the VIP of heavens)

In other manhwas, sometimes I see the bottom give that pep talk that it was in the past, we love each other now, and the top just... I don't know, stays the same, but as if the mistakes or the situations that led to the mistake never happened. Like they just skipped that one bad season to the happy ending.

EY acknowledges the past was painful. He also acknowledges the present is the happiest he's felt. He's not directly thanking TJ or blaming him, that just reality. He's been hurt too, he needs his own time to heal, too.

I'm not saying I want TJ to feel this way his whole life, I'm just saying the time which he is spending in this zone is very realistic, I think. It doesn't feel like the flip of a switch like some others do. When I saw TJ and EY in their older years, that was really when I got that happy tingling that yep, they got out of the zone happy and are now each other's support equally.

It's been a long time since I read Waterside Night so I might just be glorifying my favourite bits, don't mind me,
