yeah im ngl the second the knight started his whole "actually you like me" shtick and fl actually went along with it I became super uninterested and started skimming along only to become even more irked by him, the guy just gives off such an icky vibe
doesn't help much that fl seems to be a very verryy unreliable narrator, which wouldn't be a bad thing if it wasn't so badly executed :/
I honestly wanted to like the duchess after seeing her circumstances but she's to cynical for me with the way she treats her son Issac and the family in general, she could have such a genuine redemption if she just learned to be less controlling or selfish, but with the way things are going it seems she's going to be past the point of redemption or taking responsibility for her actions, I mean she almost killed her husband and got her son hurt so any redemption she would get would be equivalent to jail time and reflection...
anyways I kind of understand why fl is so tight lipped abt her disease, she seems to really like ml and the way he's treated her till now, and her knowledge of the original works, points towards him abandoning her over it, even if we the readers know that isn't the case, she clearly doesn't.
she probably wants to end things quick and keep her peace rather then put them both through the trouble of managing her illness, especially with all that drama around them, the ml seemed to mature a lot but it's clear they both don't fully trust eachother yet (for good reasons) so it's not really a surprise that this whole disease reveal is being dragged out.

these comments are so annoying omg, for anyone wondering it's a misunderstanding and she did infact tell him about her pregnancy, the in-laws are the ones who got in the way of their marriage and the letter she wrote informing him of her pregnacy was tucked away so neither knew that he never received the letter.
she also had every reason to not try to reach out again about his daughter considering he's the one that cut her off and ended things, she didn't even have a proper way to contact him because of how he cut things off.
the misunderstandings are gonna give me heartburn but I can't stop reading, I kinda hope there isn't any endgame romance but I have a sad feeling that leon guy is gonna be the male lead,
but she's also looking for a new fiance so maybe a new male lead candidate will be introduced? maybe someone better then these guys...

ugh this is so addictive I love fl's old grandpa personality, I'm a bit eh with the whole dad losing his emotions trope thing but it's not entirely bad here because at least he shows like the barest of minimums, I just hope the other kids get along with him later on too so it's not one of those fl favoritism stories

the season endings conclusion was wayyy to rushed, they not only gave us to much info in such a small amount of time but they kept hyping up some big bad guy plan only for said plan to be the most basic thing ever lmao
also fl becoming a queen is eh, I kept waiting for it to not be true because of how much I dislike the change ..
I don't like how blushy and happy she was reading that shitty letter like I'm really hoping she was just happy about him finally agreeing to the whole plan and it wasn't some kind of blossoming romance because there's literally no romance to blossom, at least not yet,
also I don't really understand the fiance like he was blackmailed with his sister's health but treats said blackmailer like dirt? tries to break it off by getting more money from other sources, but surprise surprise treating your fiance like dirt ends up getting him in more trouble and now he has to pay up more money and even then his sister's health gets threatened all over again, like he just kept digging a bigger hole, if he was smart he'd toss aside that pride and actually use this marriage or fl's "love" to his advantage yet he hasn't, maybe it's cause he's a good person or something but damn like even a good person could use their brain in a situation like this,
I don't really want him to be the male lead but I think he's definitely gonna catch feelings sooner or later, I just hope fl has the dignity to not also catch feelings cause girl..
Frrrrr I too read the spoiler and was sooo disappointed…. I wanted the emperor’s side to be the ml he literally had the ‘I fell in love again’ dazed look each time he sees her…. Her standard is sooo lowww TT not to mention ml is a sis con ….
I'm giving this a chance because despite the plot being a very basic misunderstanding trope, that I've seen thousands of times, the male lead (I assume he's the male lead) doesn't seem to be super cruel or evil and fl seems very resilient and kind, which is pretty rare with this trope
but just after reading this much something tells me the betrayal and misunderstanding between these two is gonna be something that could easily be fixed if they just communicated with eachother..
damn just read some novel spoilers and I don't know abt the male lead anymore he sounds just as awful as other typical male leads, I guess that should've been obvious idk why I had high hopes in the first place
Ignore the spoilers he's not bad he never does anything bad to the FL, he's just doubtful he thinks she's like her father on all accounts he saved her, never abuses her he just provokes her, she should be dead and if anyone knew she was alive she'll probably be killed, MLs trauma is also portrayed well here he's constantly conflicted whether to belive the FL but still sees his parents being killed everytime he looks at her and thinks it's only a matter of time before she becomes just like her father, he becomes obsessive but it's still not a dark novel it gets fluffy the second half.

I read it a while ago bug I'm not sure but if he does it's more in a sexual contesting way he's not that kind of ML, i remember this being mostly fluffy and the FL is steadfast and holds her ground she's no pushover she might let things go but she doesn't let ML walk all over her.
