Completely pissing me off how second ML is acting, everything he is doing is undermining ukes accomplishments. MC’s already constantly discredited for being an omega, people already gossip and say horrible things about him, and that dude just makes everything worse by constantly being all over him in public. If this story goes the realistic route so many people are going to use that as ammunition to discredit the uke even more, and say he sleeps around to climb up and get opportunities. He was having this great moment with a respectable rival and now he’s suddenly being groped by an alpha and has to feel guilty by defending himself. Seriously imagine being chased by an old dude like that in public and in your work area basically, where everyone knows the old guy is an important sponsor. Ugh so many wrong things about it.
I feel like the main villain’s motive (the lil sis wanting to see the old sis die in that specific way) is sooo dumb, which brings the overall plot down in my opinion. Stories truly are better when they have more fleshed out villains with more interesting motives. Still an okay read although not particularly memorable
She appears to exhibit the traits of a psychopath, as in being so bored all the time and feeling thrill seeing her own sister die. But I still don’t think the story explained everything enough for it to be interesting enough to the reader. Like why are the sisters so twisted? What’s going on with their parentes and family dynamics? Has the sister never shown sadistic tendencies before randomly seeing the older sister’s fate on a mirror and suddenly becoming obsessed with it? Like show me WHY is this obsession so crucial to her, how did she become like that. Things just went down like “so I was bored and saw on a magic tool my sister dying and suddenly my whole life is about seeing that fate come to fruition”, like what?
It’s an interesting premise but should’ve have been developed better to not seem so shallow and dumb to the reader, in my opinion. It’s like the story flirts with the psychological genre and doesn’t have the guts to delve deep into it. But that’s fine, some stories can still be enjoyable like that. I just see some wasted potential, because the art is great and there are some intriguing plot lines, but the writing just isn’t deep enough.
Read all chapters available here in like 2 days, I loved how it didn’t get boring like some other stories on the genre.
Things I liked:
- art
- female leads personality
- dynamic within main couple
- side characters
- doesn’t get boring
- some scenes made me laugh out laud, the comedy is peak
- but it balances the serious moments well, without being overwhelmingly angsty
Things I disliked:
- human villains are very cartoonishly evil, most seem too dumb to pose as a real threat
- not really into the romance trope “ML can’t let go of first love who was actually FL but he doesn’t know that” bc it seems very convenient that “oh no it was actually FL all along” idk for me it’s a cheap trope.
- Prince Hamir falling for his bro’s wife is icky, I’m not very into the trope of brothers falling for one girl, especially when the girl is already married to one of them and seemingly in love with him. Makes Hamir looks like a clown for making a bad expression when they’re kissing like bro u knew they were married like…. I was expecting Hamir to be a more deep, complex character, on earlier seasons his appearance was teased all the time like a marvel character reveal. but he falling for FL the way he did makes he seem kinda cliche and cheap. I don’t feel like he lived up for the hype I had of him and ended up being a cheap second male lead (like be fr he even had the most cliche phrase of 2nd MLs of all time “If it was me in his place I wouldn’t have hurt you”) like uuuugh. I hope he gets over this feelings fast bc that ain’t it.
Overall still recommend pretty solid story even if it has some tropes I dislike, I do recommend
I feel guilty fam but I do like our new yandere, he’s an interesting character and got a pretty decent villain backstory. Of course I miss Hyunwoo and think he’s perfect for endgame but can’t deny I’m enjoying the chaos our spurned gay villain is bringing. I’ve been waiting to see how this plotline would turn out since the first time he appeared on the flashback scene.
30 chapters of miscommunication hits hard. At this point they both deserve their suffering for their inability to just TALK. Also I just cannooooot with MC’s way of thought, since chapter 5 I think his logic is so broken it hurts — what do you mean you’re gonna lie to the guy and tell him you don’t like him but still ask him to marry you Lmfao he makes such mental gymnastics in his head and heads to the craziest conclusions all the time. About the ML’s mom thing couldn’t he just talk to ML? Noooo just destroy the company that he spend his entire life working on and that had significance to his own mother, cuz that makes sense lol. I’m so sorry I feel like MC was supposed to be this deep tragic martyr type of character but he just comes off as dumb. ML is not perfect either, but since we’re in MC’s head his dumbness is more apparent.
Broooo I can’t believe this got a manhua this was one of the first BL novels I ever read, I BEGGED 7 seas for a release of the novels, but since the content is so heavy I don’t know if they’ll be brave to license it lol also thanks translators for you amazing work I absolutely love this story
Yeah in one of the earlier chapters, the translator said that in a scene where they just kissed, in the novel, the ml actually raped him and that even in ch 1, the mc made a joke about raping the girl he has a crush on cuz he thought he was gonna die. I'm glad that in the manhua, they cut all that out. It's a bummer though. If the novel was like the manhua, I'd love to read it.
It is very old school BL in that sense, I think this story was written before chinas censorship, it’s very explicit. ML does stuff to MC on his mind without his consent. Also MC gets assaulted by another dude later on but they don’t go all the way (if you think critically about it, it’s kinda painted as “let’s make ML look better in comparison to this other guy”). On “real” life I don’t remember if Hein assaulted MC (not that this makes him less worse for hacking into his mind to be a perv). I like that the novel is never boring, the action sequences are very well written and the leads develop a very power couple dynamic later on. Light spoilers but there’s an iconic arc where hein temporarily loses his memory and MC becomes a power bottom and bangs the hell out of him lol.

This has the typical vibes of being based on a novel, does anyone know if it really is?
