Man, Anita is a really well written character, shes so compelling it makes the story so interesting. Her reason of revenge is not entirely justifiable but, imagine falling deeply in love with a man only to be ridiculed for centuries after helping him gain power. While his family thrives for generation, using her as a stepping stone for success and creating this whole facade that witches are evil because hes afraid to be called out for this ‘forbidden love’. Sure yeah, she should’ve seeked out revenge for the people who wronged her, but the people who wronged her are already presumably dead. If the story was written in her point of view, I think we wouldve sided with her more just like with any other villainess.
