I had written up a large review for this back when the goat baoto was still around and I had to write something again because this story is still on my mind, as I knew it would be. I won’t wax on like I did there as my review was fresh of a reread.
Everyone can hate this story and that’s fair but you can’t deny it makes you feel. The characters are terrible in the beginning- they are terrible for each other in the beginning too. The author never shies away from that and the way these two characters grow attached to each other is done in such a fascinating way.
Taeju is never painted as some great guy in the beginning and through most of the story and when really develops feelings for Euihyun, he suffers from anxiety because he knows he is trash.
And Euihyun? God his character is so visceral. There are so many moments his anxiety, depression, and desperation struck a deep cord within me - it moved me to tears in real life.
This story is not for everyone, that is very clear, but it definitely is a story for me. It moved me and I’ll always remember it.
