I ship Shuuneki! But I probably won't be able to offer a good answer. I can't really explain it. TL;DR, they cater to my guilty pleasures.

I have watched Tokyo Ghoul (haven't read it). I've always liked Tsukiyama a lot (though he wasn't my favorite). I think he's a funny and interesting character. On the flip side, I didn't like Hide very much. By no means did I hate him, I just thought he was kinda boring. That probably affects my affinity for Shuuneki over HideKane.

Anyway. I've always liked kinda twisted relationships (to a certain point). Consider it my guilty pleasure. I've always liked hate love relationships as well. Shuuneki fits both of those.

I got into Shuuneki after reading a few DJ's. The DJ's definitely skewed the personalities of Kaneki and Tsukiyama (that is: devoted puppy dog lover Tsukiyama and tsundere Kaneki). This DJ wasn't a particular favorite of mine (didn't read Re, so I don't know what's going on). I like their relationship to be portrayed a little more cutely.

Ok so at first I liked touka x Kaneki then I got to hide x Kaneki because they were so closebut then hide.... So then I thought this aint healthy for me so then Tsukiyama came in the picture. FYI I have always loved Tsukiyama and at first was like who tf would ship Kaneki and Tsukiyama? Then I found that I do, and I do because later Tsukiyama came to see Kaneki as more than just food and started to really care for him. PS in the anime he says something like I'd do anything if only you'd stay (that's caring for ya)

I can't really provide an useful answer since I'm a hardcore utakane shipper....but what I like about this paring is how gay tsukiyama is for kaneki or the way he acts when he sees him and also these two become really hot and wet during sex..be it in djs or fics u just gotta love that these two have the juiciest sex scenes *wipes drool* I wonder if it's the same for others who ship this pairing?

You're welcome. Although I admit I'm not really into Tsukikane myself, but I can see even Ishida ships them a bit. I love having discussions about TG (mostly on disqus) including about ships as well.

Same I ship kanehide too and I hated the idea of shuukane but I understand it somehow now and kind of accept it

We probably like to ship them because of 'love' they present is so dark and appealing. For me, their 'love' is a twisted beautiful tragedy that probably appeals to people who want to stray away from usual lovey dovey stories.

Personally it is just an adorable ship where they eat each other n such. Tsuukiyama is so quirky and weird that it makes him a great ship experiment. I also ship hide x kaneki sooo....

I'm actually both a Hidekane shipper and a Shuuneki shipper. I love both ships because of the way the love is shown for each couple. Hidekane is cute/bittersweet/fluff and Shuuneki is Dark/Obsessive/Lust. I like how Tsukiyama is a bit crazy, and we watch his obsession towards Kaneki change from simply wanting to eat him...to 'eating him' lol. Also adding to the dark nature of their ship is the vore level of eating/'eating' (like shown in this dJ) that for ghouls is a bit hot. I can only get this from Shuuneki, because I don't ship Kaneki with any other ghouls.

I actualy ship uta and kaneki(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

I am an avid HideKane shipper but I kinda ship this just because there's a lot of it and yeah, hot smut.

I really wanted to read the manhwa all this time. It took me forever to find the movie subbed too. I watched it last year. I am so, so happy to see this translated. I hope it isn't dropped.

I also love the movie, still watch it once in a while. Hope this is as good or better.
