....okay and? It's hard to feel sympathetic to someone who is physically hurting others because he's having a temper tantrum but keeps getting away with it.
I wish him nothing but the worse.

It's frustrating but an understandable one. Because sometimes it's hard to open your mouth and express yourself. It's hard to be a "mature adult" sometimes when you're afraid of rejection or making the situation worse.
Random reader of this comment, I hope when we all have to, we open our mouth and whatever happens happens.
Just know you did the right thing by communicating your worries, wants and needs.
