MC's mother is PRISTINE character writing. She's strong and powerful while embodying feminine traits which is fucking rare in this genre.
Most strong female leads just have outside factors making them strong (born into nobility, royalty, born with hidden OP magic, using themselves to get strong men, etc).
MC's mother manages to avoid all those shitty tropes and still be a fucking badass bitch, but also a loving and fragile mother at the same time witjout conflicting her character.
The village and how the war formed their community of helping travellers until they stay or find their own path is AMAZING. The village head's behavior towards the nobles being more crass thanks to him knowing his worth and his age making him more risky is great.
Heteronormativity piss me off, but it's represented in a realistic way considering this is a korean media.
Anyways MC and ML romance is mediocre and we can find hundreds of "strong happy woman helps emotionless man find his emotions" stories, so this one has SO MUCH LOST POTENTIAL and amazing stories they could have developed instead of this romance slop.
