I guess they could of indicated it, but honestly, I don't even look at this read like that. The main theme in this book is mainly relying on your friends and family and about game plans on how to exist difficult situations, rumors and relationships.
The MC are cousins, that don't realise their feelings before at least chapter 50 and this element was kind of a background element and is meant to become predominant later, as a surprise for the reader, and even then, it remains a platonic relationship, except for a small kiss. Personnaly I think there was enormous hints since the beginning, just looking at how obsessed they are about each others mouvements.
Eldest Daughter syndrome Isn’t an Asian only problem. Best believe that no matter the race if you’re the oldest and are a girl your mom will be stricter with you than any of the younger siblings and have you take care of them and act “mature” even when your young.
It’s why the eldest had a face when her aunt gave her that “mature” dress when she was young but her younger sister was able to get a cute one.
It’s no wonder why the eldest daughter in this story even though hated how her mom treated her she ended up doing things like her mom and sacrificed her education and time without noticing And wasn’t able to grieve properly. Although I don’t get why the younger sister was being so rude from the very beginning. Might have to re-read this.
Man what’s spooky here isn’t the mermaid it’s the towns people. Like damn the mermaid must feel hella lonely in this judgmental ass place and is just so suffocating for the young. Like dog she’s a wild sea creature of course she’s gonna hunt what she eats. Then again she probably doesn’t understand with how much fear this town does to humans about mermaids “eating people” even though she doesn’t especially since human touch burns her. It’s no wonder why only the lonely and isolated have hangout with her.
Also How the fuck you gonna call a whole family a bunch of traitors just because one family member left. But that’s all these type of places do since there’s nothing for them. people that just do nothing and stay in this town “settle” and judge others for being a tiny bit different.
I’m just glad this ended with the wife living her life with her child instead of trying to “work” shit out with that scumbag trash and just blaming only the girl. Fuck garbage people who cheat. Although I would’ve love to see how she got the evidence.
This manga is freaking awesome but holy shit do I wish this author stop trying to remind us about that ugly fat bastard. Like we got it the first time no need to keep putting your ugly bastard fetish on display any chance you get. Especially when it does nothing to the story.
Ummmm… let’s take it another way. Here showing such a person, shows how she got in the school and how she continues to stay in her position. It shows the drastic change she underwent from a caring mother to someone with revenge as their sole motive. Also it seems, she loved her husband with the way they showed him as an illusion, her crying face for me meant that she was fully dependent on her husband emotionally, and she is not really proud of what she has become as a person.
Showing the ugly side of the school system is also motive of the author Ig

Which is why I 100% understood why they showed us the many times on what’s she’s willing to do to get revenge and how bad it’s effecting her especially when she still has some affections for her husband or gets reminded of him but idk I think theres no need to keep showing the ugly bastard and keep reminding us that she has to fuck him or do gross “couple things” with him just to keep her job and continue to show that she’s disgusted with it but do nothing since it’s just to keep showing the readers and For how corrupt the school is shes isn’t there to punish the school for allowing the bullying to happen she’s only there for the brats. But hey I’m still really enjoying the story and the author can cook up whatever they want and I’ll be here. Might reread it just incase I’m missing something.
Yesss it’s for the plot and also when all the things happen, the author keeps showing that person to remind us it’s not just revenge there’s back dealings going on tooo which is at the expense of our mc both mentally and physically.
