This is important so I'm posting it. Quickly written but deep analysis of Killing Stalking, requiem for Sangwoo: (copy-paste of my comment)
I cannot believe so many comments are about this rat Bum.
He's a stalker and has breaker and literally NONE of his trauma can explain that. Also he was already a failing adult before his trauma, despite having loving parents. He's literally a rat.
Sangwoo had big mental illness, he never was given the chance to become a fonctional adult. No one can judge him 'cause in his place you DONT know what you would have become, here's a friendly reminder:
when he was a child his father beat his mom, made him eat on the floor, his mom tried to kill him, never genuinely loved him, then she killed his dad and tried to kill sangwoo, then raped him and tried to murder him again.
When his parents died, instead of assigning him a psychiatrist, he was interrogated which fucked him up even more. He could have had therapy and healed but no, society let him down until the end and he turned first into a liar, then all the "fear" "defiance" and "resentment towards his mom went to all the girls that acted like her towards him: shallow, insincere.
I cant believe everyone is like "oh poor stalker that broke into a mentally ill person's house while looking exactly like their rapist mom"
The fcking AUDACITY it takes. I could honestly write a 7 chapters book on Sangwoo's psychology because that sht deserves to be studied.
While sangwoo was not fully responsible for his actions, Bum was. And that was the whole play of this story, and the fact that a lot of people dont get it shows how fucked society is: you dont care about actual truth, just who looks more pitiful in appearances.
Anyway, it was an amazing story I will always fight for sangwoo, for people to stop overlooking his mental state, his whole traumatic life, all the details about him and what could've been done to heal him, and people who mock his death.
Okay, i know everyone has different opinions. I read your post, sure sangwoo was a victim of domestic violence and child abuse: sexually, physically and psychologically. But Bum is also victim of all this. I am not defending no one. Both are messy and broken characterw. Yeah bum had loving parents who died but he was still a child who was a victim of violence and his uncle raped him. You think there are a difference between a child raped and an adult raped. Who cares about age? A Rape is a Rape! When sangwoo died, he should have been in psychiatry hospital even bum should, because bum has bordeline personality. What bum did was horrible and an act of criminal: he stalked him and broken into his house, he is like that because of his bordeline personality caused by a trauma: raped and all. But sangwoo is also a criminal. A narcissist and sadistic sociopath who enjoys making others suffer. These SHALLOW girls that you called don't deserve To be raped, tortured and killed. So if i found my boyfriend cheating, i am going To kill him? Or i cheated, do i deserve to be tortured, raped and killed?
The response is obvious: sangwoo and bum were victims of abuse, but even so it does not excuse their behaviuors.

Sangwoo is actually a perfectly normal human being. And it might hurt the feelings of those who still believe Humans were born angels, but Humans are blank canvas, who become a product of their environment and upbringing. In his circumstances, Sangwoo could not have become anything else.
I'd say getting a psychiatrist was the last escape route but they treated him as a potential criminal first.
The "monsters" are the people who had other options, yet showed unexplainable cruelty. We don't have the origins. Like Ted Bundy.
But a lot of psychologists aren't to be trusted, unlike psychiatrists. I always thought that but this confirms it.
