The plot has been dragged out like hell it started off with a very good concept but the execution is just poor. I just marinated it for years and coming back to it feels like nothings changed.
Romance is honestly a side plot with the main focus on having the mc make everything a happy ever after ending with no consequences. Whenever problems arise there’s no real reason to care because you know it’ll be solved with no long term issues.
The main antagonist is a poor excuse of a villain because his only drive is seemingly his love for Mc. None of his “attacks” have made any meaningful impact and all got foiled. What’s worse is his response this guy literally said all the better it would look for my future wife if she solves it all. So far he’s done literally nothing for his nation that he’s apparently obsessed with.
As for the actual romance, it’s barely explored and just personally I didn’t like how it came to fruition. ML just came off as forceful in my eyes and FL main concern just started being annoying. There were so many times I was just like what is even the point to her keeping this all a secret.
I think what made this manhwa stand out in the first place was its concept, but now there are many different better alternatives you could read starring a maid with a secret identity. At some point it lost its spark and didn’t seem to have any direction with its writing. Disappointing to see its decline in quality because it was an OG during the pandemic years.

This manhwa is so frustrating they’re giving us no reason to care for these male leads. Margaret is capable of surviving on her own but they can’t stop being so damn overprotective and needy acting like she’s a damsel in distress. It becomes really irritating with how much it’s overused even after she’s proven herself to be an asset to the groups survival. But nope! all they see is a fragile lady. How is that love? They sooo freaking arrogant with a saviours complex. I really like rofan manhwas and I wanted to have a good male lead but this this is just garbage men like they are just easily swayed by any woman
They all just come off as so arrogant and I guess they are nobles but they seriously have no regard for anything Margaret says and feels They just burdenu her with their one sided feelings. Not to mention the casual intimacy the guys display her feels gross. I can’t imagine what would unfold if she wasn’t with a group because clearly they don’t have self control..
The beginning was to show how Enoch was a gentlemen even if he despised her but like where has that gone??? Like bro hated her because she was so obsessive and now that the tables of turned that’s supposed to look endearing?? Like are we forgetting that’s a trait of Enoch for the sake of fan service?
This can all be explained with them losing their minds because of their dire situation but we don’t even see their descent to becoming irrational. There’s no build up just complete personality switch for the sake of the romance plot. The male characters no longer independent people with their own minds they become obsessive male lead steereotypes!
It’s just so frustrating because Margaret is so appealing as a character that I just wish there wasn‘t such a forced romance. This manhwa would’ve narratively stood better if the main focus was the developing plot of the island. But it’s not!! I have to go through these filler chapters of pathetic men holding her back. If it can’t be done well don’t do it at all!! The main story is already appealing enough
It’s not as though romance is incompatible with these types of stories. A great example is “The male leads trapped in my house” The ML’s life doesn’t revolve around the FL. What makes characters good is having a solid foundation of their purpose. What do they want? What is motivating them? What are they willing to do to get what they want? All these questions are only explained to the viewers as love for Margaret. There’s so pushback or conflict of interest with their “yes dear” energy. Like everytime the FL is planning to make a big decision of the groups behalf she anticipates pushback from Enoch BUT NOTHING HAPPENS!!! Like boy make your voice heard you are in a do or die situation you freaking mutt It honestly seems the romance plot was just squeezed in there for the sake of the demand for rofan manhwas ╥﹏╥
