No fr, what is the point of a placeholder? Is it because there are people who try to upload over others and so the of uploader has to put that there? Also, why don't they ever delete those placeholders long after the update? I keep seeing notices and placeholders years after it happened. I feel like you should just delete it at that point
Placeholders are uploaded so that mangago doesn't automatically upload a manhwa. Usually the chapters automatically uploaded by mangago are grabbed from mtl websites, meaning they generally don't have the best translations. Some of the translations are incomprehensible. I appreciate placeholders because they block off mtl translated chapters so that we can wait and read for better translations or official chapters.
The reason why you usually see placeholders not being deleted is because (I think) they, the uploaders just edit the placeholder and add images once they have the chapter available and make another placeholder for the next chapter.
It's for a good cause, a minor harm to have a quality translation later ;)
