I feel conflicted, I’m sorry ♀
It’s fluffy. I’ve always liked childrearing/famfan manhwas just as much as I love my rofans, and I think that’s why I started liking this when I first began reading. I’m already at chapter 87, and I rarely drop something once I start, but I think it’s too fluffy? Or maybe it’s just me?
They’re all cute, adorable, funny, and I’m like awwwwee
but then I’ve been feeling like that for 80+ chapters already. It’s just everyday life with the FL being loved by everyone around her. I don’t really have a problem with that, and she deserves all of it, but she’s waaayy too loved. I mean, most famfan/rofan manhwas go that route anyway (with the FL being showered with love), but… I don’t know, I just can’t seem to put my finger on what’s missing.
Not to mention, the supposed “strongest-warmonger-duke-of-the-north” looks more like a giant, shy teddy bear who can’t express his love. Gosh, he even makes cute desserts. Like… where did the character build-up go?
I know she’s the FL, so the spotlight naturally goes to her, but at this point I feel like I wanted to see the plot actually move forward. They’ve dropped hints that the duke can’t have kids yet. They mentioned that the emperor was plotting something, but there haven’t been many scenes showing the emperor actually doing anything. They also said the FL has blood ties to the emperor, so having her bear an heir would allow him to control the duchy, but it feels like they hinted at something more complex behind it. Like there are powers at play behind the scenes (otherwise the political marriage alone would’ve solved that part).
Like I’m dyyyyiiinngg to know what the bigger plot is here, but they’re too busy attending festivals and eating food

I just binge-read this and I wanna say I'm sorry to the emperor for being biased at first. He was red-haired and was being an asshole during the early chapters. I thought he was a villain in this story and this was due to other manhwas usually depicting red hairs as villains. That was totally biased of me. I can see he loves his brother so much
Okay, now I have this theory and just a what if: WHAT IF the FL is not really a transmigrator. What if she's also a regressor but by the time she regressed, she remembered everything she did in her past life and the transmigrator thing is just a coping mechanism of hers that allows her to start fresh. Like some sort of another identity or personality she built, and her original personality is just hiding within herself, afraid to come back out. I had this thought after the devil confirmed that she's not inside a novel but the devil just put it that way to make things easier for her to accept. Also, it was mentioned by her maid that she acted strange the day before FL "transmigrated" to this world. We saw her remember everything and blaming herself for destroying her family. Now if that's how it is, then that's kinda sad to realize how much her self-inflicted trauma is taking a toll on her. Again, this is just a what if.

I just binged-read this after missing so many updates, and there’s honestly way too much I wanna say!
But I figured I’d just pour my thoughts into one thing:
Bellezac/ballsack lol - I totally don’t agree with forgiving him or giving him an easy way out, but I do think he deserves some sort of chance at redemption. Not that I’m trying to excuse his actions, because what he did was still wrong. But at the end of the day, I think a lot of his behavior was shaped by bad parenting and emotional manipulation.
I just think every child deserves to be raised in the right kind of environment, surrounded by the right people who can help them grow into the kind of person they’re capable of becoming. It's at least nice to see he's living in exile. His father though, is a lost cause.
I totally agree. It feels sad in a lot of manwhas when a child gets a punishment for being raised a certain way. Ultimately kids are still growing and they’re always gonna repeat what the adults they trust are saying.
When I read Ashtarte my biggest takeaway from it was how the sister just going along with everything the MCs family was doing got the biggest punishment and was forgotten almost right after
