How exactly is women reading yaoi fetishizing gay men? I've never really understood cause how is women reading yuri ok but men reading it isn't? Yk what i mean? I can kinda see yaoi as a genre fetishizing like rape (not every story) and so on but reading it? And same with women watching regular gay porn or men watching lesbian porn. How is that fetishizing? In both cases they see people as sexual objects and when they are confronted with more (the real world when a couple wants to hold hands and date and marry and all the other sides a romantic love has) they reject it.
At least this is in my experience, I thought I was on the same page with my friends when we talked abiut anime and yaoi, and when one of our guy friends came out they were so fucking uncomfortable.
Honestly, I don't think all yaoi is bad but there IS a portion of the female fandom that is only using it as only a fetish.
Kindly do not generalize. This is true only with a small percentage of female yaoi readers. Smaller than you think.
ALSO!! Yaoi is made to resemble heterosexual fantasy, the whole uke and seme thing is to categorize man/woman, again, straight girl fantasy with two guys, nowdays there are more yaoi manga that are more than stereotypes, but it's been a process.
Don't worry, we live in an age where people like to preach and chastise other people, especially online and especially on this site. Rest assured, you can bet that less than 10% of the preaching-types actually follow through in their real life with what they ''stand'' for online. Hypocrisy is what it is.

You see a fetish is not necessarily a bad thing! Take for example a foot fetish.
Now, feet are perfectly normal, non sexual parts of the body and, depending on the situation and the person they can also be used for sexual estimulation.
(I mean psychologically speaking in a diagnosis a fetish happens when you can only feel sexual pleasure from your fetish -example, if you like bdsm and you can ONLY get off from bdsm, then YES, BDSM is your fetish, but people seem to use fetish informally for a particular liking so I'll use it that way)
As I answered before, it becomes bad when you can ONLY see the objects of your fetish as sexual.
