I binge read this whole story and all I could think about was the Queen. My heart aches knowing how it was clearly stated from the beginning to the end that she dies a forgotten woman despite being so peaceful and clearly yearning for freedom. She never got to experience so many things like social meetups or banquets even though she was a noble herself, even small relationships like a friend is clearly a luxury to her cause it was so obvious that Ash was the closest thing to a friend she could have. I wished we got more scenes of Ash and the Queen and saw more of their friendship, it felt like that was the only moment where the Queen got a chance to be a real person. It really sucks knowing she still didn't really achieve freedom even after the King and Yurigel left the Kingdom.

The part where Ash asked the Queen what she would name the child and she answered Eugene I really believed at a point in the story the baby would be called Eugene instead of Mikael since we know now that Yurigel is Mikael himself, but not even that part of her remained in the story. I get that she didn't show any want or need to being associated with the kid she gave birth to was a clear sign she didn't acknowledge herself to be a mother to him but I wanted there to at least be some sort of mark that proved that she gave birth to a child, especially to a heir. Even at the end Mikael considered her as his mother and I wanted to see if the relationship between the two improved before she died. Not even Mikael's black eyes, which I still dont know belonged to Ash or the Queen, remained as a part of him which is strange cause we saw Ciel use magic to turn his black eyes back to yellow with magic, which means he could have undone it when the people of the Kingdom were questioning his legitimacy to the throne.

Worst part is that she carries no sense of hatred or revenge for the King or Yurigel for using her as a birth machine and she dies when Mikael is 10. Almost like she served nothing to the story, both in the original BL novel and in the timeline where Ash switched bodies with the original Ash. I feel sad that she dies in both stories and her sister only came to beg her for a solution in giving birth to a child for herself.

Although I have so many complaints I loved her tragic character, she really left a mark for me but part of me hoped she got an extravagant happy ending like standing side by side with Mikael as his mother and independently ruling the Kingdom instead of being known for having a beautiful garden of flowers after living in silence. She really was just an introvert who was used by everyone and never put her own feelings first for anything, it's like she had no goals or passion and was waiting to die every passing day. Truly tragic.
