Okay wait but answer their question superficially...is it A LOT of angst...cause I just got done reading tale of the yellow dragon after telling myself not to read anymore historical stories by BWAT and now I think I'm going on a hiatus from historical reads in general because they always have angst...so I need to know if it's angst that'll pass quickly or if it's a lot of it and I have to suffer again

it's a little but it's like.. easy ti digest..? it makes a lot of sense why everything is happening, the characters have a good reasoning for their actions and its SUCH an amazing payoff. the pure happy giddiness I felt during the last 10-ish chapters totally made this up for me. they yearn and are so beyond in love and the angst is definitely lower than BWAT's stories... I haven't read the one you mentioned but I'd say the angst level here is about the same as smyrna & carpy or maybe lower

It's a fair amount of angst. The MC is very self sacrificing, leading to some heartbreaking situations. That being said the ending and payoff makes it absolutely worth it. But yeah. The angst is definitely angsting with this one.

I actually told my friend the one I read is one the same level as taming of the dragon (if I got the name right) and smyrna and capri is lower because it still had a happy ending that made me feel all fuzzy

yeah, yeah, I totally get you!! spoilers but not really, it kind of has the same sort of happy, fuzzy ending!! its worth it to see their cute kid like w smyrna & carpy hehe ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
