He injures Sangwoo, and Bum jumps in front to defend him. Bum gets injured too. They both survive, both end up in hospital, destined to a life of misery as they are apart from each other. But for that short time before the ambulance arrived, they both achieved their ultimate goal of being completely needed on each other, even if it would result in death. Have that or a double suicide as the option, whilst the police are knocking on their door.
