Helo, I'm female, straight. I'm not a fujoshi, but I do enjoy reading shounen ai/yaoi (but mostly to watch handsome and hot characters).
I don't know but sometimes I get this feeling that most shounen ai/yaoi is made for female audience? or gay/bi men. I don't know if this has been asked before. But, I'm really curious is there any straight man here who enjoys read shounen ai/yaoi? Can you tell me why? I sincerely wanna know. (⌒▽⌒)

I am a straight Male who likes reading Yaoi/Shounen ai mangas. I also write for the criteria of mangas in manga sites. I dunno, there's something about yaoi/shounen ai that fits the picture in all aspects of my imagination.

I'm bi female, but I have a friend who's gay and a drag queen. I got quite curious myself and introduced him to yaoi to get his and his boyfriend's opinion. While my friend liked the bara and the shounen ai (he's a romantic guy who likes muscles way too much), and his guy I'm not sure if he say he didn't like it because he was jealous or because he really didn't like it, and didn't question any further cause not that close to friend's guy to ask something so personal

I honestly think that what you said it's not entirely wrong but not entirely right either. I as a hardcore fujoshi filter a lot of what I read because a lot feels like they make the bottom look and behavior so feminine, or the seme look like a super macho male that it doesn't quite feel like reading about a homosexual relationship, or when they ignore the fact that I see the buttholes that acts like pussy and not a butthole (I like anal and even if I have a puss it feels very uncomfortable with it) and if you go to others website you can see that plently is just about kinky sex (I like it here because they filter most of those). But then as a panssexual, I went throu a phase of going to LGBTQ's bars and stopped reading about any type of love. What I see is that a lot of things that I've read gays complaining about it's not something the massive female fans created, but something that a lot of people in community say or think. They complain about feminine characters and then they say that someone is not gay because he doesn't act gay enough. When they say about oversized dicks or too much muscles, all the male dances on the bars mostly muscular guys and the gay porns are hugely made with guys with huge dicks. It's not every single gay guy that behaves like that, not at all. It just made me wonder if yaoi tries to portraid this side, and it makes me wonder while quite a few female writers shows a side of the gay community, it's not majority. I think that yes, it's hard for the mangakas to show what they can only watch, and makes me wonder why so few gays go and take the pen.

Wow, I never knew that. Thank you for answering my question, The Manga Critics Club-nim. When I read shounen ai/yaoi, sometimes I'm shocked that it has better romance and sex than shoujo (though I'm a female), sometimes it's like they were straight out from my imagination too. I never know that man has that kind of imagination too (not meaning to be sexist). I learn something new (you can guess I'm pretty young) hehehe. Thank you♡♡

Thank you for answering my question, SymphonyForTheQuiet-nim.
I'm intrigued with your point here "bottom look and behavior so feminine, or the seme look like a super macho male that it doesn't quite feel like reading about a homosexual relationship".
That is exactly why I thought that the shounen ai/yaoi, are targeted for female audiences. Feminine uke-macho seme make shounen ai/yaoi look like regular shoujo(?), I think.
As a female I personally like something like that, because it's more like hetero couple (I'm at wrong, sorry xD). And that is why I thought that men won't like them because ... they are different from "men" I know irl.
But yes, I met several gay couples and they are different, like total different than the couples I see in shounen ai/yaoi.

Thank you for your points about gays' complaints.

And this, "I think that yes, it's hard for the mangakas to show what they can only watch, and makes me wonder why so few gays go and take the pen."
I do encourage them to speak up more, in medium manga/manhwa especially, so they can "fix" how people in community think.
