It was just revealed that the company Kakao Entertainment (Korean company) was responsible for the shutdown of Bato. Even after the takedown of the website, the Kakao company was able to identify the creators of Bato and legally going after them including community managers, admins, moderators and sub developers.
It has been CONFIRMED that the company is going after TWO more illegal websites. The names of these websites are unknown but this could mean MangaGO is on that list!!!
What can we do?
1. STOP SHARING WEBSITE NAMES. The main reason bato is gone is because of how popular it is. The more people know about the website/use it, the less money legal websites make. These legal companies already know the names of illegal websites, it’s all about how many people are using them and how much money the legal companies/creators are losing.
2. Start SAVING what you are reading. It’s a good idea to save what you want to read and what you’re currently reading. Even save the last chapter you read (meaning take notes).
3. Share only LEGAL websites! This encourages readers/new readers to read legally.
4. Have a backup site!!
5. There are FREE LEGAL ways to read manga/manhwa. There are different videos online that can show you how to do it.
(Reminder: Companies/legal teams are the only ones responsible for website removal. It takes time, paperwork, money, and a legal team to get sites taken down. This means no TikTok/Instagram creator is responsible for this. This is just the work of companies.

I buy the official release of the ones I like once it gets available in my country. It's not my fault that most official sites have the english Version region blocked for my country. Thankfully there's lots of physical releases of BL content being released here so I can support them anyway, even if it takes a couple years for the physical release to come out, but hey that gives me an excuse to re-read them
