I don’t understand how all of this stuff keeps happening and yet his family is brought up once in the beginning like didnt he say they were super powerful and that they were super overprotective like youd think if they were they’d know of him getting kidnapped and sexually assaulted and would actually do something about it

I agree with you, until now we can't see his brother, that family shadow in first chapter look really good
