Not even some cute short stories of their future to balance it all out lol the author hates hates Minho
Honestly as much as he was an ahole in the main story, Duna was pretty rude/an a$$ too? I don’t get why the author feels like she’s redeemable but Minho isn’t. (Actually I do know why, it’s DEF bc he’s based on the author’s irl upperclassman. Vent ig T-T) Tho I disagree with the translator too. As much as Minho doesn’t deserve the extreme treatment he received from Wookyung, the signs were there. Yeah he went to Wookyung for money but the money was always intended to pay off his huge debts and that’s what Wookyung did. As for the violence & entrapment, Wookyung was pretty open about what he wanted from Minho when he offered him the chance to “live without worrying about money”. Idk they keep arguing that Minho was offering a one night stand for cash but that just completely ignores their several interactions in the main story. Even if it’s true then that’s just Minho being naive and desperate. It was a dumb af move to make but he was at rock bottom so
First - love them so much! Ngl I was surprised that Josh bottomed but the dynamic is cute. I’d even bet we might see Angel topping him in the future (jealous over ex situation )
BUT one of the main reasons why I figured Josh would bottom was bc of his phobia! Like the thing that bothered me the most is when he fingered Angel in the car after leaving the Angel’s apartment (first time he visited) bc it was too dirty to fuck in. I’d understand a bit more if he used a condom but! There wasn’t the slightest bit of hesitation despite the fact that it’s arguably a germaphobe’s worst nightmare lol. It threw me off a bit but otherwise loved the story so far
Initially picked this up bc some1 said it was worse than Reverse Thinking (which a lot of ppl regard as THE toxic yaoi) — and I have to say that I agree that its worse. I’ve read a ton of “black flag” “twisted” yaoi but not many have disturbed me to this extent. While I was reading I was trying to understand what about this story was so bad (other than the obv ofc). I’ve read stories that were just as graphic and more violent … even the plot of a “poor naive mc who falls in love with a rich deeply disturbed ml who plays nice before having the mc gangrap3d and abused until mc no longer has a will to live” isn’t anything new. I think Haewon’s reaction to his abuse is well written and that’s why every chapter felt like a twist in the gut. This story is almost entirely SA/grap3 but imo it’s also a realistic portrayal of the deeply emotional effect SA/grap3 has on a person.
