I don't know why people hate this story. This is a psychological story what do you expect. Bet you want those black flag tops, raping and abusing ukes. I don't also understand the hate for the 2nd couple. It's so forced.
Authors unfortunately use psychological/mafia/toxic in BL as automatic connection to SA... story is great of course, even if split consciousness is a more complex topic, resolution was interesting, where that 'bad' side was the 'real' one, and they marged together at the end... but it doesn't change the fact that there was a lot of noncon and forced sex, probably this is why some are not so fond of the story... normalization of SA in BL is just concerning at this point...
I don't know if I can consider this as queer baiting.
i disagree with your so called established notion that the mcs were gay or something. It just so happened that the top likes the bottom just him only. Did some scenes implies that he likes other guys besides him? Anyway, the author was just toying with our feelings. What's the point of getting back to being a girl at the end tho? They didn't even made their relationship into public. Them being both guys. What a waste of time. It's like implying that man to man relationship should not be an end game.
Having romantic feelings for a guy and fucking a guy is gay whether that’s the only guy they find attractive or not. He said that he liked him since they were young. Sounds pretty gay to me. The ending sucks, no real closure about the drug issue but it’s not really queerbaiting since they do end up together as males as well. Queerbaiting media is usually when writers bait the LGBTQ community into thinking a character is queer but then never confirming it or push them into a hetero relationship in the end.

Just break up if you're just gonna be like that brah
