Like the protagonists in the story, I gave all of myself to someone who would not return my feelings. Then, I met someone who was willing to give all of themselves to me. Unlike the protagonists, I let go of the unrequited love and let myself return the feelings that were given to me. Maybe I was not tenacious enough or maybe I was a realist, but regardless of why I let go, I am happy that I did. We've been married for 22 years and I've never been happier, or grown in such positive ways as I have with him. Maybe if Yukari and Kaede had had more time, they could have had happiness too, eventually.
