Well the cover is mostly there to draw you to read the story. Of course the promotional cover will look way better than the work itself.
I feel ya there. Something about the art in the story looks kinda off compared to the cover. I think it has something to do with the janky way that the eyes are drawn/proportioned in the story.
You say that because you don't know th effort and time spent making the cover.
If they do the same amount of time and effort for the whole comic, did you consider the amount of time it would take the author?

Ok, so I get where you are coming from but you are assuming a lot of things about op. You don't know why they came to the conclusions that they did. You never know, op could be a professional artist. It's fine to differ in opinion but starting from a hostile position doesn't change anyone's mind.
So let's take a small breather.
Op just said that they noticed a drop in quality from the cover art to the main story art but they also said they didn't care as long as the story is good. Which is just stating an observation and not trying to say anything mean about the artist or demanding the story art get on the same level. You can think that the story art is a masterpiece and have it not conflict with op's opinion because you can probably also acknowledge that the cover art is still better in the technical aspects. So chill, man.
Yeah, im chill. I do art myself and have friends who also do we comics and animations. I know how bad these gets to them and I know how long it takes for even just a chapter to finish.
Ive worked with a korean manhwa company so I wond disclose much or else I'll get sued for company privacy since we signed it... Please know this:
We have artist for line art, diff artist for color, shading aside from the main artist and it still takes days for all of us to complete a chapter.
I know everyone demands same art as cover it happens a lot in Japanese mangas where cover is different from the art style in the content itself.
It's just all good bec the actual artist can't see this but if they do, they would get pretty hurt. My friends would suffer art blocks from simple comments such as these wince they gave their 100 but it isn't enough for everyone. I just get ticked off by demands like these especially when they don't actually pay for the the content.
