the problem is not about what you think its about what the people in story thinks. Its only natural and logical that the brother will be forgiven because the main story was about that in the first place. Forgiving was the only solution to having the warmth of a family.
yeah but the story builds him the rental brother becoming her actual brother just for her to say to her biological brother "you're my only family." The story makes you think its a found family with her, the rental brother and his friends and family becoming her actual family only for her to get her "real" brother back.

It is more like a "paying back at her" and a misunderstanding, he thinks SHE was the one who assault him first, and later disparage him since she didn't like the "kiss" , hurting his ego, when in reality he only kissed her shoe, and she is embarrassed about it.
