i understand this kind of situation where the student has to provide for the guardian bc sometimes the guardian has nothing left anymore, in my opinion it isnt really wrong just as long as they're being reasonable but its better to not normalize this kind of behavior ^-^

My boyfriend lost his mom when he was 15 , he was leaving with his grandparents but after he demanded the juge(?) to be independent and from this moment he was living on his own and found a part time job... we live in Eu...that’s the reason I m surprised, u can’t ask a young person to be responsible for someone else, u can even take a loan as a student if there is no one else behind you with money
I'm sorry to hear that, your boyfriend is strong to have lived with it. I think it's safe to say it's common among those living in the global south, especially southeast asians in a third world country. Living in one, most families see child-bearing as an investment. Some of my friends in the province have to do manual labor just to feed their ailing parents and siblings even when we were thirteen. Our government really doesn't have a focused effort on this.

His father was in the hospital for 9 years and he said he used to live at the hospital when his dad died he was working part time job and was renting this room that’s why he doesn’t have any stuff
