the longer the story gets the more ridiculous it gets… personally i would’ve preferred it if there’s no interference from the future or whatever (yes mc getting too OP is already ridiculous but bearable since they’re just sticking with murim) but now that these people from the future or whatever shows up. tbh his arm chopping and obliterating everyone is already too much and getting repetitive so i think i’ll have to pause and marinate this for now and hope that it’ll get better.
i thought this is just about acting but it suddenly became psychological/thriller? also i feel like there are a lot of scenes that are suddenly cut off or we’re left hanging? feels like the phasing is too fast. they focused too much on the actor kingdom but at the same time doesn’t show much. also the old legendary director was shown but suddenly vanished after making it look like he’ll be back again… now they’re trying to break the actors’ minds i also got this feeling that everyone seems to cling to JW especially when he became a director (look at that one actor who became kinda obsessed with him?) maybe there’s more to it in the novel if it has one? hmmm
Yeah they are skipping huge chunks of the novel, but it's for good reason! The novel has so many extremely boring side plots (which is what is being exuded from the manga and that makes it seem more fast). I dropped the novel like 5 times before reaching the end of actor kingdom. And eventually I dropped it completely.
For example in the middle of actor kindom when they go abroad, there is a fashion show plot and even culinary plot. Like jungwoo inspires some renowned fashion director with the way he plays with stage lighting and basically makes a miracle out of the show. And the culinary plot, I don't even remember, he just eats in a restaurant and suddenly some famous chef asks his opinions on cooking or something. Like useless plot really. It's been forever I read it so don't quote me on details.
The novel also has mixed reactions on Kakao. Up to the point I read I think the manga is actually doing much better job. But since the current plot is past what I know about the novel. I can't really say much about what is it that we are skipping.

No, unfortunately I dropped the novel shortly after actor kindom because the comments were saying that that's where the story peaks and anything beyond is not worth spending money on.
But based on comments on Kakao the manga is already half through the story. So, it won't really take long to see the ending. It's spoiler free but some comments said that the novel is "mad" "grotesque" and "psycho-horror like".
