Wow a couple of haters running rampant in the comment section due to elitism or whatever feels like projection
Ahh such a good read every time.
Actual strong female lead Who actually fights her own battles and doesn’t need anyone to fight them for her
A proper male lead that’s actually supports the female lead and doesn’t take over. He actually understands her and supports her fully
It was a slow burn romance but actually believable considering their past
The revenge is properly done. It’s not quick and I like it. If you were tormented for many months in a past life, You would want your enemies to suffer just as much as you
All supporting characters are cute. They are also useful and have their own personalities and not just background characters
Tl;dr I love a Strong queen with her supportive trophy husband
God berry family are so stupid.
Only the king seems to understand that if they lose, they lose everything.
While dumb delulu sis goes off for selfish reasons because her arranged marriage partner isn’t attractive enough even though the marriage is her own fault and the only reason they had them as allies
Gross brother is lazy and just wants to flirt around. Doesn’t even understand that if he hides because he doesn’t want to work and they lose the war, he won’t even be royalty anymore. If there’s a time to work, it’s now dumbassssss.
The queen just complains if she loses face and and benefits, yet when they talk about trying to improve things, she just yawns and spaces out as if it’s not her problem to fix
It’s like the family doesn’t understand that war is bad, they will lose and losing means having nothing
They act like they Royal forever
I love how the main couple gets all hot and bothered after a successful revenge served and decimating their enemies
I don’t understand the Berie family. Like the king is the only one who has some sense of the danger and pressing matter of everything. The rest of the family are just idiots.
The queen is just like ‘oh my’ all the time and sips tea and wonders why she isn’t invited to parties. Refuses to help since they have ‘paid help’??
Eric is like a dumb teenager who doesn’t want to work or have any responsibilities or even just listen. He just sits angsty for no real reason
Delulu Nicola just skulling the delulu lemonade
Like dont these dimwits realise that they could have Berie completely overtaken and stolen from them? They can be dethroned? Executed?
Surely it’s starting to add up and they would WANT to proactively help and do something or they will LOSE EVERYTHING
But nope. Just the king is the only one with half a brain cell and I honestly feel for him a bit in these moments. I enjoy his pain but it gives me ptsd of group projects lol
I’ve caught up again and I’m so glad they changed the male lead so I can return and enjoy the series. Pretty enjoyable read and it’s nearing its end.
The change isn’t noticeable. I haven’t read the novel but it definitely didn’t feel forced. If anything, wayyyyyy more logical haha
The guy who has helped her and supported her the entire time without needing anything in return, how can you not fall for him?
I also like how they changed her relationship with Javi to more of a family love that started with co-dependency. Makes a lot of sense and also, not creepy or grooming lol
I personally prefer Cassion tbh, but happy with Lucas. Just like my dark haired knights lol
Overall, enjoyable read. Not the most perfect plot or story but really fun nonetheless.
Honestly good and easy read. Lots of positive smut (consensual, protection, somewhat realistic, healthy)
Though the FL low-key sucks LOL. She ‘solves’ everything by running away and was honestly a really crappy friend of ML. For childhood friends, she spent no real time trying to understand him and just RUNS AWAY. Like if my long time friend who’s normally level headed, got into a bloody brawl, I would just see it and get SCARED? Of him and run away and never speak to him again?? Would you not ask him what happened?
She honestly doesn’t deserve him sometimes but at least now she’s being a bit more proactive and relationship positive. The wispy washy feelings and indecisiveness was annoying. Like she’s worried about breaking their friendship, even though she already did multiple times in school for the dumbest reasons ever lol
Need some explaining to know whether to keep reading or not
I have read that Veramud is end game. Does he still continue to just touch her inappropriately throughout? Kind of bothers me (and yes hugging is inappropriate when you are not friends or know each other well. Can’t believe I have to say this. Not referring to the core but he’s just very handsy for a stranger)
I’m very early on and really like morris. He seems extremely patient and understanding. Very good friend and always trying to resolve conflict. Then I heard he turns into an incel…did it feel natural or just so people will not cry for 2nd make lead and make ML look better because I HATE when authors make characters into idiotic bad guys for no reason except popularity contest rigging.
These are kind of dealbreakers for me so I want to know whether I continue or not
The improvement in art is incredible. Love seeing them do flashbacks so you can really tell
Jevon doesn’t say much but boy does he say what’s important every time.
They were both so broken and actually healing together. It’s so cute tbh
Also their right hand men and the two girls, one being a concubine, watching them happily like we are as their love unfolds.
Truly wholesome for a webtoon with so many messed up themes LOL
I just can’t warm to Claud sorryyyyyh
Nothing to do with age gap tbh
Maybe it’s the power difference?
He did kind of manipulate and tease her a lot knowing she’s easy to manipulate and coerce
The romance just felt kind of coerced. I dunno.
I cry for Isaiah. He was protecting and caring for her from the start when there was no one else. He always wants her happiness even above his own and always seeks for her to speak up for herself and move bravely. He wanted to help her get stronger without being controllling. He deserves better and I dare say maybe Claude wouldn’t have liked the melody without Isaiah…
Things I liked:
Unhinged family
‘Villainous’ sister turning into a likeable character smoothly
The sibling dynamic at the end as they are truly accepting of each other
Clean ending more or less
Real villain getting served probably more than necessary but kinda funny lol
Things I didn’t like:
The whole part where Adele just ghosted killian after finding out about his family. Did she forget it was a contractual marriage where she wasn’t even suppose to care? I get that they fell off each other but there actually wasn’t time to bring it up and it was kind of awkward to bring up. I dunno, I liked her for not being a typical FL, but then she goes and acts out the typical FL trope of my NIGHTMARES.
Eonia and Deonia are the most stupid names I’ve heard of. There I said it. Mercedes and Fiat were almost better
The sister Rebecca arc was too long and honestly didn’t love that no one brought up how hypocritical and prejudice she was being when she was practically bullying Adele. I get she’s like a high priestess but it was just too long and too much. They all watching Adele being blatantly bullied in a FRIGGEN CHURCH and all like ‘oh it’s just Rebecca being Rebecca’
I hope those hating the emperor eat their words. He’s perfect for her
So many preach for a strong FL. Here we have one. You know what happens? The ML doesn’t serve the purpose of saving her. You know why? Because she’s a strong FL who doesn’t need it.
What he does is support her and match her freak. This chapter proves it because she needs his support more than anything.
Strength and usefulness is more than just a knight in shining armour. He just hasn’t had the chance to shine
They honestly so cute. Good slow burn. He will literally drain the blood of entire empire for her LOL
I just love how much he understands her lol. He really understood quickly she wants to torture her sister in the purist form
Nothing more cringe than a man going after a married woman…
Not to mention she’s clearly happy and loved.
Honestly he’s not even in a position of judgement. The audacity to judge the ML’s integrity
Seriously, I get ranking or whatever but they should’ve just refused her entry and invitations without Ras around. She’s clearly dangerous lol
Not to mention, who would even punish them from refusing anyway?
Or like, yeah you can enter but leave the 20 crazed looking hired men behind thanks. Shut the gate lol
Don’t let the comments keep you from reading if you like a bit of a slow burn with complex character.
It is a frustrating read, but it is intended to be that way. Angst, but not so much that you’re bored and over it.
Real trauma and anxiety isn’t something you can just simply brush off. It is reoccurring. Even if you are in a wonderful and safe environment, you never truly feel safe while suffering trauma from crazy terrible events spanning over years during your developing childhood.
The characters have depth and and quite likeable (or properly dislikable if intended to be).
I think the author has done an amazing job reflecting this themes while keeping it interesting. Yes I am also super keen to see the king get his just desserts, but I like that they are not rushing there because I always find it unsatisfying as it’s unrealistic.
It’s not that easy to overthrow the royal family, especially if you are not a Royal yourself.
Hmm so far it’s ok
What I like is that they don’t lose sight of the revenge plot. Revenge is at forefront which is great. I also like that the kids of the bad people aren’t bad themselves. It’s a cliche I dislike so I do enjoy that the kids are their own people (especially the adult ones) and they are not a mini me.
What I find the biggest letdown are the villains. They’re actually stupid. Not smart at all. Like, how did the empress manage to overthrow the emperor and convince him into genocide of those who are practically saints??? I thought she was conniving and intelligent and plays 3D chess which is how. But so far, boring, stupid with one brain cell swimming around in her head. Her ‘big ideas’ are actually a joke.
Same goes for the mother in law. She helped the empress but also daft.
The wife is probably the most ok. She isn’t that brainy, but at least she isn’t dumb.
MC is ok. She at least does think for herself. Male lead is mediocre in my opinion. They tried to give him depth but it feels lacklustre.
Overall, it’s an ok read. Easy to read and interesting enough to keep going but unless you are having a night of ‘dunno what to read’, I would just move on.
