recommend? if you want a mc who makes comparatively logical and rational decisions despite a shitty environment, yes! if you want healthy relationship dynamics (platonic and romantic), no.

in my opinion, this manhwa was just a combination of how codependency and possessiveness manifest together in different people. I really like how sensible the mc is in comparison to a good amount of oblivious MCs who end up letting MLs get away with bad behavior. obviously mc himself isn't perfect either but I honestly find it not too crazy considering the other characters in this manhwa. ML Jong-ho needed to grow a spine sooner and honestly, he should have distanced himself from the other ML the moment his requests started getting crazy. I honestly dont care that he regrets sexually assaulting the MC, how in the world does he have the audacity to say "ik I did that but I fell for you ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶". The moment he touched the mc without his consent and took advantage of his vulnerability post-assault by roleplaying as a hero is disgusting. the other ml is just a mess as well. his background just felt like an excuse from the author for his actions but im not falling for it for a single second. yes, he was abused and shouldn't have been abused. no, he doesn't not deserve to be forgiven for telling the other ML to sexually assault the mc and treat the MC like shit. I really like how the MC held the other ML accountable, in some way (although I think he should have pressed charges) but kept a moral ground and asked ML's father to not hit him anymore. now the brother..... he's pretty bad as well. imo, I think the author was totally thinking about going the incest route but ended up changing their mind last minute because wdym you stroked your brother's lips saying "you only need me" ???? that's BEYOND overprotective brother. im glad he got his shit together later on but locking up the MC and acting very controlling on his life was unreasonable. it's a good thing he went abroad.

this is the first time I've seen an mc in a love triangle be considerate of the two ml but its just so unfortunate that everyone keeps on stepping on him for their own needs. like I get both mcs are now regretful and wanting to prove they still love mc but if that really is the case, please just give him space. also the audacity of the brother? I've literally never seen him give a shit about mc unless it would impact his own life.

Okay no one asked but here are my nuanced thoughts on this.

I think that this manhwa is catering towards a specific audience, hence why there is still a majorly positive rating despite the content. MLM and WLW, MLM more often, have the tendency to dabble into step-bro, step-sis, etc. content. If that's your thing, then you do you and I can see that some people feel like that's more 'exciting' (not my cup of tea but not everyone drinks the same blend.) The author never intended to make it an actual love triangle imo. MC very clearly was never into the 2nd ML and it showed. 2nd ML was only supposed to act as a plot device to accelerate the relationship between ML and MC. It's rather unfortunate because the minimal development, we saw from 2nd ML was interesting and I would have loved to see 1. the MC choose the 2nd lead and 2. a relationship that wasn't purely sparked through lust.

Next to my stance on the relationships in this manhwa. It can definitely be argued that both ML found love in the MC because of lust, however, I would argue that the 1st ML is a more empirical example of this issue. 1st ML fell for his future sibling's looks, messed around and ended up sleeping with him. All the love came from the psychological attraction from being sexually connected in such a vulnerable way, especially because MC and 1st ML are characters who avoid showing vulnerability (thus, 1st ML lashes out or MC distances himself away). 2nd ML also ended up falling for MC because of a physical relationship but I think that the connection between the two felt more natural (and obviously not taboo). The progression between hate, to curiosity, to potentially something more was a little rushed but it felt more solidified, to me. Especially because MC and 1st ML were either banging or arguing 24/7, I found more dialogue- at least casual one (because relationships should not revolve around the other person [imo]), to be from 2nd ML and MC.

As for whether or not I believe the relationship is taboo, it absolutely is. They were introduced as potential siblings- to be family from the start. Even if they are not blood related, their proximity and the inevitable declaration (that both of them knew about) that they would legally become siblings was something both of them knew about. Nevertheless, they had a romantic and heavily sexual relationship since they were young all the way up to their early/mid 20s. They were 100000% aware that their relationship is taboo- so I'm sorry to any defenders who are saying that it's not taboo, because it definitely is.

Anyways, 2/5 stars. I don't recommend.
