[CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO ARE JUST BEGINNING TO READ] Anyone who is caught up in recent chapters then it should hopefully help.
For those who are confused, I just finished binge reading it and can hopefully clarify for you all what's going on. So I hope you don't mind reading this.
It's easy to see Ginseng baby (deity 9) is the male lead. Han is the Ginseng baby (deity 9). Every few months he is punished to revert to the baby form so he heads to the mountain to rejuvenate and gain back his strength to be a full grown man again.
Xuemo must have swayed his heart because after they parted ways, he followed her to the city she is living in and kept an eye out for her. I am not sure why he changed his appearance but it's 100% him as Little apple recognized him when they met again in the tea shop.
I am also not sure why her memories were erased in regard to deity 9's white haired form. She does recognize the mountain and someone had helped her get the blood contract. Not sure how she forgot him though...
Anyways, Deity 9 doesn't like the many admirers around her so he essentially gave her a "fortune" as the Lone Star. But really, I see it as Diety 9 being taken with her. He doesn't realize his own emotions so he deters any males around her such as the Prince and her guard, the emperor and her ex fiance.
He even stopped the Minister (her guard, I forgot his name sorry. He's the one who looks like no. 2), from confessing by accidentally dropping a cup. He even forced him to have an upset stomach when the minister wanted to take her home with him.
To save her from being killed by the emperor and being framed as Yilan became involved, he offers to have her be his concubine. This would save her as he has a very high title. So no one would dare to touch her.
Of course, Xuemo holds ill feelings towards him as whenever Deity 9 (han) would stop men from flirting with her, bad things happened. Take the garden incident when she fell in the lake for instance. Diety 9 didn't want her to flirt with the guard as he knows her type. Men who look like Stalone since she told him herself when they were trapped in the beasts belly.
Anyways, they story is now following the relationship with Han and Xuemo as without him, she would already be dead.
Then the incident with the demon Xue Yilan happened. Even though Xuemo ran away, he still searched for her without rest when he found out she was kidnapped. He asked his two friends to help him search for her and they were surprised at his enthusiasm as he'd never been like this before.
When found, she took the appearance of an old lady as Yilan didn't want to be found out. This is where Han's real feelings come into light. He still wants and sees her as his concubine and possibly the principal wife as after she ran away, he was holding a red robe. Which he said he hated the idea of wearing one for his wedding but for her, he had one made. But because she didn't look back once when she ran away, he burned it.
Of course he doesn't realize his true feelings and he won't admit them in front of Xuemo as she still doesn't want to be married at all. But I can totally see her feelings bubbling for Han as she turned the cart to the city to seek Han's help. Why would the proud and strong Xuemo seek Han's help when she was the one who ran away? FEELINGS! If you were in her shoes and can't get away from Yilan and you see your fiance in the street looking for you, you would gladly want to get his attention so he could help you.
Anyways, you can see his feelings again when the cold and icy Han pins her to a tree and kisses her after rescuing her. This is after talking with her and asking questions about her personal life. Our little Han just wanted to know her more (≧∀≦) Han is a calculative person, same with Xuemo. He wouldn't just idly chat with someone he doesn't care about. And Xuemo's wall towards him is melting as she answered these questions seriously.
Anyways, he kissed her and did this to knock her out as she would never willingly enter the bath needed to changer her back to her original appearance on her own. Especially being naked! She needs a clear mind and be thinking of Han to be able to change back so he gives her an illusion. Their "possible wedding night" and because she was moaning due to the vivid dream, Han was getting distracted ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
He also needs a clear and focused mind as if he doesn't she'd be stuck in the old lady form forever. So he mutes his ears and focuses.
So what we know now is without Han, Xuemo's life in the city would still be complicated as she had many suitors vying for her hand in marriage. Han stepped in due to their meeting in the mountain and the fact she kept giving ginseng baby (deity 9) kisses. So he couldn't leave her alone. He was too curious about her and obviously possessive as he doesn't want her to kiss other men like she did with him.
I am not going to spoil the rest of the story but it does get more interesting and the story gets deeper. I am excited to see their relationship deepen and for Xuemo and Han to realize their feelings.
I can easily tell that Xuemo doesn't remember her previous life yet. She remembers her modern one with the electronics and stuff but it's easy to see something else is hidden. How does she know so much about cultivating and can have a large power of Inner Force as the body she took over was clueless in the matter? And it also doesn't explain why she got reincarnated into a body in the past. So I believe it's going to uncover these truths later in the story.
I believe she was the demon ancestor as recent chapters the demon ancestor looks exactly like Xuemo. It also explains why Yilan feels she is very familiar and why the song he was singing felt familiar to her too.
We also have yet to see what the Prince plans to do as he got set up with that girl who wanted to be with Han. He wasn't able to confess to Xuemo and is still wanting to pursue her but her marriage tie to Han complicates things for him. He can't easily say his feelings as Xuemo views him as a friend and it wouldn't be right for him to confess to a newly engaged girl. So I wonder what's going to happen ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Another sweet moment I just remembered is when Xuemo is falling asleep in the carriage. Even though she has the look of an old lady, Han didn’t care and still got jealous. He wants Xuemo to rely on him so he shoos little Apple away and has Xuemo place her head on his lap instead (≧∀≦)
And another thing, Han is very wise due to his immortality and many years of cultivation so he knows of her reincarnation. Which is why he had her eat the blue fruit and bathe in the hot spring. It had her change to her original body. But it also raises questions. Her original body has the three marks on her forehead. Who was she I wonder ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ she also chooses to hide it with her bangs and does so well as you don’t really see it after she changed.
I really appreciate this summary. It helps me remember things. I love this story, but got totally lost in the last group of chapters. One minute she’s soaking to fix her feet, then she stupidly pops the bubble and her soul flies around, then there’s the whole snake people and disciple thing, then a strange lady with an old cat sends a soul out and puts Xuemo’s soul in and seems to have plans on skinning some poor mermaid alive. Omg! It’s crazy. If memory serves me, which by now, probably not, I remember a merman saved that girl who was on the boat that Han screwed up. I think the merman was the guy who guarded her and two people caught him after he saved the girl. Since you just binge read it, can you give any insight to these things happening now? Thank you!

The boat goes down due to Yilan and the friend is too proud to ask help from her old crush. As she’s about to be swallowed from the fish, she is suddenly rescued by a mysterious creature. It is revealed by the heavenly titled woman passing by, that it’s a merman. It is revealed to be the shadow guardian, I forgot how we know haha The guardian doesn’t speak nor look at his master as he doesn’t want his identity to be known.
Then the whole Yilan and Xuemo arc happens. She gets rescued by Han and transformed back. Except her feet stayed as the old lady’s feet!
After she woke up from her illusion, Han was waiting beside her. Now why would someone who supposedly doesn’t care about his fiancé be willing to stay all night and sleep beside her? You know the answer haha
He then pins her down upon seeing how affected she is by the dream but Xuemo doesn’t want to admit it to him as she doesn’t really know why herself.
You can tell she is being swayed by him as she blushes whenever he is near or smiles at her; and she had easily let him pin her down. Remember when he pinned her down when they first got engaged? She fought back and pushed him away. This time around, she simply laid there and blushed.
Even when they kissed, she had melted into it and if she didn’t pass out, I am sure she would better understand her own feelings towards him. As she had compared Han to Yilan. She felt nothing when she saw Yilans body but when Han simply smiles at her, her heart beats fast and she blushes.
However, she is still stubborn so she says she views the dream exactly like a visit to the gynaecologists’ office. In this world, that title doesn’t exist. How foolish of her to suddenly say that as no one would understand the concept! Han is struck by this news as he thinks she had shown herself to another man. She said it so convincingly too so he believes what she said. He probably compared it to a brothel.
Now this is where the leg problem comes in. Han must have put a spell on her as punishment for what she said. Then the whole purple mud bath happens, and the soul in the dying cat. One of her souls is shown a memory. Way back when the demon ancestor first meets Yilan and how he came to be. She said herself the demon ancestor has something about her which is familiar.
Now this is where our little Xuemo is left at (￣∇￣") we wait to see what happens next! I am trying to keep these simple and brief but informative :)

I think we realized the shadow guard was the merman because the girl looked at him and whispered his name. She also wanted him to be saved after seeing him captured. For those of us reading this in bits and pieces for so long, the author threw us a curve ball by cramming important info that was off the cuff in just a few chapters. I was thinking UGH.....it’s all my brain can do to just keep up with the regular storyline, wth is all this
Anyway, I feel more comfortable with things since you generously took your time and gave this great update. I’m really excited to find out what’s up with that strange woman. It’s seems this isn’t the first time she’s put a new soul in this cat’s body. I’m wondering if she’s maintaining the cat’s original old soul somewhere. Also, I don’t remember if anything was mentioned in this story about the Mer people, but I’ve read in several other stories that if one eats their flesh they can become young and immortal. Maybe that’s her purpose in skinning the merman.
I am excited too in wondering what the heavenly titled woman’s relationship is with the cat. Whoever makes it to Heaven title naturally gets immortality and can change their appearance to be youthful so she must have been doing the soul exchange for a very long time.
And I don’t think there was any more information about the mer people as it was only mentioned in that moment. They explained the many good properties you can receive from a mermaid so I think they’re rare. Which explains why they were so adamant in keeping the shadow guardian and didn’t want to release him. I can’t wait to see what’s in store ヾ(☆▽☆)

Same, i didn't read the chapter after that and skip to the end because i wanted to know if the seme got what he deserve or if he suddenly change somehow. I'm not okay with rape at all, but i'm glad the seme actually change for the better.
Yeahh like it’s well written and there’s depth behind the characters and story. And don’t get me started on the beautiful art! It’s just...I can’t seem to like him. To me there will always be that first meeting behind the seme. I can’t stop thinking about it even though he’s bettering himself and wanting to cut off ties. I want to like his growth but the shadow will always be there.
