I think it's bcs Aseras has been heavily brainwashed by his transcendental power that he failed to see beyond his self-pity.
I also think that Blueport implanting all of those memories in his mind did more harm than good because he was just made more aware that there wasn't a cycle where he received salvation and, somehow, despite this cycle having a variable who is capable of purifying transcendentals (Dahlia), no one truly tried to save him, making him spiral into more self-pity.
This is not to defend him, nor fault Dahlia. Just trying to find a reason why he was so stubborn abt asking for forgiveness. Maybe if Aseras's route in the game wasn't so vague, Dahlia would've probably done something about it.
