Those last two pages were what I imagine being kicked in the balls with a steel boot feels like.
So I was re-reading this after the new chapter came out and I have this little theory (might just be wishful thinking though lol). Might be spoilery for new readers.......
So in chapter 144 we learn a little bit about Mo and his family situation- mainly that his family used to have a restaurant but somehow lost it (not explained how but might have something to do with his jailed father). When questioned by He Tian whether Mo needs money the redhead straight up says yes but that he doesn't want charity. And this is where I think my theory pops its head up.
We saw in chapter 160 that He Tian gives Mo a note to deliver to an unspecified 'someone'. Mo, of course being the 'ballsy' little shit we know and love, tears the note up in his face. He Tian obviously has a spare (because he's He Tian and knew that would happen)and promises Mo an easy reward for its delivery. But fast forward to chapter 177 and we find out the note wasn't anything important at all, just a 'ha ha, knew you'd look, make me some stew' order on it. Now to me (probably reading way too much into this though lol) it almost seems as though He Tian made up an 'errand' so he could reward Mo- and if the reward in question is money then he thought up a way to sneakily give Mo money without it seeming like charity :)
Buuut, then again, He Tian may just be a straight up asshole who just likes toying with Mo :D

So, Kishimoto isn't the artist. He's supervising the manga but leaves the illustrating to a guy called Mikio Ikemoto. The plot isn't his either. Kishi himself is apparently working on something else.
Is that information real? No wonder the drawing style seemed different (⊙…⊙ )
Yep. He was one of Kishimoto' assistants when he worked on Naruto. The writer is Ukyo Kodachi so that may explain why the characters personalities seem a tad different too. Nice username btw ;D
