Reynold being the one brother who straightened up quickly and understood that Penelope is probably not the villain everyone portrayed her to be is peak character development.
Idk man, I love Reynold. He is a goof but he has good intentions, he also picked up pretty quickly that Yyvonne was creepy and actually shut Derrick up when the mf decided Penelope was the bad guy from the get go.
Even the Duke has come a looooong way, man, who's cutting up onions.
Her family needs to GO TO HELL. RICHARD NEEDS TO SEND THEM TO HELL AND BACK AND THEN IN HELL AGAIN.
It's finally STARTING, the final piece of puzzle. The chapter that intertwines so many so things to tell us, that this is beginning.
The rollercoaster has reached the peak, shit is about to hit the fan.
Shi Yan in his boyfi era is A NEED. I NEED A MAN LIKE SHI YAN.
Alas, I am not as talented as Shuyi TvT
Seeing my babies being old and still in love made me cry. GOSH. I will NEVER find this love
The symbolism of him being stripped down to his most vulnerable state, being naked and giving in to the weight of the realisation of how many lives she has been through and suffered to get here, it's just.....*chefs kiss*. He kneels in front of her, baring his vulnerabilities down to being naked, mourning, weeping and yearning. All at the same time.
What. A. Character.
There are two types, men who genuinely believe women can have their own thoughts, own opinions and person. But then there are men who see women as nothing but commodity. The fcking ahole of a man portrays that well. The helplessness Laura feels when she is backed into a corner, the way no one came to save her despite hearing her SCREAMING because the fcker is the master of the house. This shit is real. Women are not human but just commodities, as Laura said, he hates that the fcker couldn't sell his sister for a high price cuz she ran before he even had an opportunity to put her up for an auction.
That's why he is mad at Laura too, cuz he can't auction her off to the highest bidder but he will use her as a collateral simply because he can. She is not her own person, but a thing to be bred, to warm the bed. Laura is a commodity in the fckers eyes.
It's genuinely so well written that my blood is boiling. It's unfair. How she is made to leave with nothing but is being forced into marrying simply for another man's greed. I wanna throw hands so bad, I being so srs.
I am usually not a second lead syndrome girlie (last time it happened, I stopped reading the manhwa) but Enzo is really starting to grow on me. Like he cares, he is playful but he also genuinely wants to be with Madelyn. Can't wait to see how it will roll out.
Y'all do know that in order for us to get to point B from A, it needs setting up? It's not dragging, it's setting up for the next plot point. And it requires the groundwork of knowing how Taeha thinks, moves, works and the WHY behind his actions. If y'all don't think the ground work is important then don't read until the story is done publishing because then you can read it in one go without unnecessary whining.
We know that Taeha wants her but we also know he orchestrated Mincheol's downfall step by step. Those talking about sex, again, this is a story that started with Mincheol and Haesoo's marriage falling apart and how he choose to have sex to cast aside Haesoo. Sex is a major component of this story, one of THE components rather.
So if you are gonna whine about pacing, don't read until it's done publishing cuz good stories need groundwork and it's not gonna happen in 2-3 chapters.
Honestly, I love how their relationship is growing. Real problems, miscommunication and the efforts to get closer. From trying things together to just sleeping together because that's what married couples do. They rely on each other. And I love how Richard's insistence of his position being a burden on her is a complete no-no.
This is genuinely such a great plot. A married couple that deals with inner workings and problems more rather than an outside problem. Their own traumas, demons, anxieties, insecurities working through this complex machinery that is a marriage. Love this. Genuinely appreciate the way the story is unfolding.
I have been a Callisto truther SINCE DAY 1.
"Can't I stay by your side?" LIKE BROOOOOOOOOO. JUST RIP MY HEART OUT PLEASEEEEE.
Genuinely, I am intrigued. While I knew Ari would give in pretty easily and knowing the master manipulator that is Minshit, he used her vulnerability against her for his benefit. The author is truly exploring the themes of how far and how derogatory a man with audacity gets.
And people saying Taeha is also a bad guy.....did y'all not see that in the very beginning???? Bro's far from being a good guy. He is not a green flag of any kind. What he is tho, is a good person to Na Haesoo. He still lies, he still manipulates but he also operates from the same place of insecurity that Minshit is starting to feel right now. It doesn't excuse anything, but it does explain how they both operate.
"what a damn blessings it was, to finally have you want me"
Truly. I don't know what the writer was on, what kind of heartbreak they must have felt, but this line just spoke to millions.
Not to mention, the absolute masterpiece of a delivery of this chapter. The tension. The feelings. Two men, in love with the same woman but one is choosing to let her go because he knows, the other is the man who deserves to be with Ines. Carcel's absolute devotion and love transcends time and lifetimes and Emilliano knows that. He knows, that despite Ines choosing him in the past lifetime, Carcel still loved her. Fervently. Ardently. Quietly.
Each time, observing her from afar.
FINALLY. OH GOD I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!!! FINALLY ELIAS AND OHARA!!!!!
You know when the character who has so far, only been reactive to the situations presented to her is finally backed into the corner. She will either fight or run. I am excited to see how Penny turns this situation to her favor. Considering Yvvone's plan is clearly not working.
Reynold just made me cry wtf. LIKE. THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT?????? Love to see this but DAMN it hurts
So, I did feel bad for Eckles in this moment. Because those words were definitely harsh. But, I don't blame Penelope, I understand he was brainwashed but his "love" has turned into something far more dangerous. He is willing to go on a killing spree, one she has not asked for even once. And all this grooming talk?
Y'all really think Eckles is stupid? Eckles chose to be loyal, she did give him gifts and attention because SHE WANTED TO SURVIVE. God forbid someone wants to survive.
She could have handled ANYONE else bringing Yvvone back. ANYONE. But not Eckles. Y'all don't realise how deep his betrayal has cut through her. She asked for one thing and one thing only, to NOT betray her.
Even if he was brainwashed, instead of telling her the truth, he told her how he wanted to drag her down. Telling a woman who is licking boots, trying and begging to be heard (damn you Derrick) and being framed again and again for something she didn't even do, telling a woman is constantly in survival mode that someone intends to drag her down just so he could have her, if you were on the receiving end of that, you would have reacted quite similarly.
It's easy to say that Penelope is overreacting when all she is doing is, reacting to the shitty situation that she has been stuck in. She cannot trust anyone. Not as long as Yvvone is in the mansion.
So yes, while her words were harsh, he had it coming. She tried to end it by letting him go, she tried to cut the ties by saying lesser harsher words, but his intentions still remain the same. He doesn't love her. He is obsessed with her to the point that he is willing to see her fall from grace if it means having her.
