The reason why they only captured the wolf children instead of killing them is that they are meant to be sacrifices. Wolf tribe are the tribe that was neglected by gods that's why they are perfect for sacrificing for summoning the Demonic tribe/ demons. The white star (leader of this secret organization called Arm) wants to be above all existences and destroy the world that's why he's trying to summon demons as well as using a sealed god's powers. Cale and his family and allies are stopping him tho. They are trying to smack him on the back XD

they were killed after they were sacrificed but I guess the “The Birth of the Hero” which was read by Cale (kim rok soo) just said “killed” without explaining why. btw another spoiler, the “Birth of the Hero” was written by Choi Han’s relative who used to live also in the world they are right now.
