I.. Don't know how we went from normal to absolute psycho with ML towards the end there but ok.. ╮(￣▽￣)╭ I actually thought his character was well-written for majority of the story. And the way he would talk, too. He'd express his thought processes earnestly and would word them very well. That total switch in personality did him dirty imo and robbed him of the interesting qualities that he originally had. For example, his attachment issues and anxiety made total sense due to the environment and family dynamics he grew up with, but he was also head-strong despite all that and pushed through his complications. Until towards the ending of the plot, that is. But oh well, still a pretty good read story-wise by majority of Yaoi's standards (excluding some of the absolute gems ofc). To say that I didn't enjoy the story would be a lie but yeah, the last 20 chapters or so caught me pretty off-guard.
I'll add one more point to this. Saying that he was head-strong and pushed through his complications, I meant that his default response wasn't to jump the gun. He'd often try and think things through. He'd also express those thoughts in an easy-to-understand manner. As in, it wasn't vague or confusing or hazy, whenever he'd deliver his point. Rather, his conversations very clearly reflected exactly what he thought and what his goal was. We didn't have to agree with any of it, but at least it had reasons and causes that made sense, compared to insulting Mr. Lee by constantly calling him a man-whore towards the end, using manipulation to gain pity from MC, becoming overwhelmingly controlling, etc. He was flawed and that made him humane in my eyes, until he went psycho.
i feel the same way!! its as though yuri lost his charm, i liked him a lot. even though he was quick-witted and a bit rude, thats what made him funny. everything he said had at least some reasoning to it, like when he’d told himself he would never tell mr. lee about his feelings and constantly lied to him about it. but now hes like a completely different character. borderline psychological bl behavior.
