Idk what Fujimine's full backstory is but it'll never erase the fact she purposefully toys with people, brainwashes them into killing those around them, and ENJOYS the fact they get pissed or miserable from it makes her too deep in the irredeemable pit.
Not to mention, adding in false memories to make it seem like you were an important person at her victim's most sensitive periods? That's an extra level of emotional manipulation and gaslighting, she needs to GO
W granny witch for the last minute clutch too (I can recognise her by her crude manner of speech and the fact she has an umbrella which aligns with her "vintage" aesthetic in the early chapters)
A portion of the fandom's hate for Suo is probably gonna peak after this chapter, but I'd like to put in my two cents & state my speculations here before yall start crucifying him like on chapter 211
We all know he's confirmed to be an established officer at Red Chanpuru. Which is why it's so "odd" that he chose to be a key figure within Bofurin (a vice captain of Tamon team 1st year). He put his 'official address' given to the school under an empty lot, he does NOT eat in public & only drinks no matter the occasion, and he ensures that the info he gives about himself is either false, surface-level, or extremely vague.
It's likely he made a deal with someone over at Red Chanpuru to be able to school at Furin until he graduates but was suddenly called back due to circumstances. Why make friends when you'll only be there for 1 semester? Why take up such a noticeable position? Why bother personally training one of the students there & risk the chance of forming a bond with them? The outcome I theorized practically answers those questions.
Not to mention, it's clear Suo, or rather Sun-fei (his true name), knew that no one at Furin would care enough to dig deep into his personal business unless necessary. After all, he would've been caught earlier if his friends had felt like stopping by his fake address to pick him up or hang out.
I do feel bad for Sakura & understand why he's hurt, but just know that Sun-fei most definitely feels the same amount of pain (if not, more) as he does. Knowing the author, they'll definitely make up after this arc, so don't sweat it (just deal with the angst for now )
Please please please, I plan to let this series marinate until next year, so I hope the updates are consistent. Of course, I understand authors need to take breaks, so I won't be so unrealistic as to ask for weekly updates, but I just really hope that its enough chapters to the point I can binge read them without any major cliffhangers by the time I come back.
Sending all the goodluck, wealth, and stability to Nii Saturo (author) so that he can continue creating the upcoming chapters without any troubles whatsoever.
For my fellow readers who plan to continue reading upon each update, I wish you luck as well. Cliffhangers back to back is not for the weak, I am most certainly one of those weak people which is why I plan to let this arc pile up chapters before reading. See y'all next year!
Jokes aside, what the hell are the furin kids gonna do??? Not only is the Red Chanpuru territorial like Bofurin, they've been at it for decades which amps their hostility to outsiders to the max.
Whether Suo-fei came to Bofurin as a spy or out of his own personal interest, now it's gotten him caught up in a tight spot. Technically, he's made an official resignation to cut off all ties from Bofurin, going so far as to revoke his student registry there too. But we all know Sakura & his friends are stubborn and will insist they at least get a clear explanation on why Suo-fei stuck with them for so long.
He could've left when things were at their worst during the war arc, yet he stayed and fought with them.
With the current situation, it seems they'll make a trip to Red Chanpuru's island (it'll likely be a select few too so as to avoid sparking conflict since they know how territorial that faction is). Most likely, they'll ask to meet Suo-fei and demand an explanation but it'll be seen as the furin kids being hostile, thus escalating into a full blown "fight us if you want to meet (insert person)" scenario.
Bit of a spoiler, so if you haven't read the recent chap, don't read this!
Anyways, I think it's half confirmed that Amadoro and her family faction are under mind control. You can see the subtle detail within their eyes. Each of the ladies from the Ribboncandy family have a little white dot in the center of their pupil, Amadoro herself included. It's the exact same white dot that the evil witch has (forgot her name, forgive my memory, its been weeks since she's been introduced). Going by that logic, it's highly likely we can tie that detail to the possibility that the evil witch indeed has a mind-manipulation majik up her sleeve.
Take this theory with a grain of salt, it's just based on my observation & speculation so far. But if it does end up being fully confirmed, that makes this evil witch all the more deadly since this means her kill count may be higher than just thousands considering she could've orchestrated indirect murders through controlling others and no one would even be able to link it to her unless they were aware of her powers.
Everytime i come back to this series, its always some new plot arc going on. I'm practically making a bet that the author plans to do every single troupe in existence before ever retiring this series, cause they were not exaggerating when they said the plot is nonexistent in this story LMAOOO (not complaining tho, just find it hella funny its still ongoing despite the plot constantly changing each arc)
Considering that even Endo is encouraging them to give up, this group must be hella crazy. Do you guys think this'll be another battle arc? Like the one where Furin was on the defensive against Endo & Chika, but this time Furin has to go on the offence for the sake of one member.
Suo, you better be glad your classmates saw you as a good friend cause they boutta go to war for your ahh (literally).
They searched for three weeks.
Endo did it in one day.
They asked everyone in town for help.
Endo did it in one day.
Just how wide is this man's connections--scratch that--how much money does this crazy guy have to have hired and expended capable man power to find someone who likely faked almost everything about their personal information. Hell, we aren't even sure if Suo is his real name until it's confirmed otherwise.
I really hope the 'traitor' (won't spoil the name for now since ik some of you have a tendency to read comments before catching up with the latest chapters) turns out to be mind controlled.
It's also a tad bit unfair if they're fully confirmed as a 'traitor' considering the fact we've barely delved into the other major witches' backstories yet, so this'll either be an expected "plot twist" (since it feels so out of nowhere to the point its obvious they're just being manipulated) or one of the top ten worst writing moves in history (the reveal of them being a 'traitor' will fall flat due to the lack of lore & emotional investment on a character who's own name hasn't been reveal till today).
I wanna see what the paragraph Endo sent Sakura was. I hope there's a translation to it. Or if ever the author decides to reveal what he said during some mini interview. I wanna know what that crazy guy of all people has to yap about to Sakura who couldn't give two f**ks about the bs he has to spout.
No spoilers for my review so you can read with ease. I've finally decided to read this manga, and if troupes like "iruma goes to demon school", double life, 'underdog finally wins', and a mix of "trash of the count's family" (considering how they misunderstand the mc) is what you're looking for... You have come to the right place!
Though if you're expecting this to have the "mc constantly steals the spotlight" type of troupe, I fear you'll have to look elsewhere since this manga actually wants to make use of the other characters and make sure they each have their own specialties and importance in the story.
Overall, great read. And don't worry, the author doesn't seem like the type to pull a 'student x teacher' romance which makes you feel like you want to report it to the police for predatory display of grooming. (Not to mention the mc himself stated he has no interest in dating students so that's a clear stance against the weirdos out here thinking they can fit in their 'minorxadult' predatory ships)
There's no romance in this whatsoever, right?
I'm sorry to everyone who's probably rolling their eyes right now thinking: "Great, here comes another one who drops good series just because of romance" but it's just a preference of mine and a major turn off whenever it does happen. If there's romance involved when it's not the main focus of the plot, I only accept them under the condition they introduce it at the start (like Dandadan for example). Other than that, it just ruins the experience for me.
Sorry again if this annoys anyone!
Authors try not to make any lgbtq+/queer coded ship be miserable challenge (impossible)
Im ngl, i have to agree with that other comment talking about the glasses thing. Like, sir mugos face card just bumps down to -50% for me without it. Hes a human-snake hybrid spirit anyways, im sure he can use his magic or whatever to keep it on while they fawk....
First the anime is finally releasing soon, and now the manga is back to giving regular (hopefully) updates?! With all the awful sht going on in the world, this is the one thing making me happy rn.
I don't care what y'all homophobes say about some "can't two people of the same gender just be really good friends?" I KNOW ROMANCE WHEN I SEE IT, EVEN IF THESE TWO WERE BOTH WOMEN, OR THE AVERAGE GIRL × BOY, IDGAF, SUO AND NIREI ARE SO IN LOVE AND HAVE HELLA CHEMISTRY
Don't even get me started on how Suo only appears when Nirei is by himself, telling him to "bundle up" in the cold, with leaves randomly whooshing by like it's some sakura tree love confession scene
Like that other commentor said, I wonder how they'll deal with this series once it gets to the point where the novel stopped. For context (to new readers who haven't read the novel beforehand): the original novel was ongoing back then, but unfortunately stopped due to the author's death. There was word going around at some point that their friend planned to pick it up and continue their work, but I never heard news of it continuing (nor did I keep track of the updates about it).
Overall, I'm just hoping if they ever truly do continue to write the series on behalf of the original author, they don't entirely change the plot or the essence it used to carry. It's difficult, I know, but sometimes things are better left untouched, especially when the person who once made said thing is no longer in the world to make changes to it.
