Why do none of the adults in this story intervene with the disturbing relationships that these high schoolers have with adults. They are surrounded by predators. It's disturbing how the parents don't bat an eye to these 5 year age gaps and highschoolers hanging around adults

Oh hell nah! If I peeped my freshman kids with college students I'd be livid! Adults have failed these children throughout their entire lives
Does anyone have an explanation for the prolouge chapter? It doesn't have any relevance to the main story and is never brought up so I'm assuming it was just a concept pilot?
honestly i'm not sure but i think it's just a background on the mc's parents and maybe even insight on why he distances himself because the actual story mainly focuses on his grandma raising him bc that's how it was most of his life?? idk tho
