You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard it's just fiction for every bad review I've left on a badly written yaoi manga (there's a lot LOL). Sadly people here don't give AF or skim over it as I've noticed from the comments section.
I understand how depictions of people in the media and fiction can create unconscious bias in people. Black people have literally been dealing with this forever. So I'd imagine it would not be that much different for LGBT.
