There is a line between discipline and abuse, what you went through sadly was abuse. In my house my mom made a rule that if she talks to you two times on the third one try and get someone else to help (in this case my granny) and if I still don't listen then Ill get a whoopin (true definition is usually getting beat with a belt on the bottom).
