« Alpha has the right to be bitter, mad, or whatever” ain’t sitting right with me.

If y’all can excuse his involvement in the process that made Omega an omega by saying “he was a child, he didn’t know”, then surely y’all can also forgive the volatility of a child’s emotions — their intensity, their heaviness, and how overwhelming they can be. Surely you can accept that this child was profoundly hurt, that his pain, disappointment, and frustration at seeing a dream break and shatter overshadowed their innocent first love.

Omega lashed out at the person responsible for his condition, which is understandable — but what isn’t fair is ignoring that Alpha never intended to turn him into an omega and wasn’t even aware of his own condition at the time.

What is unfair, however, is how people talk about sincerity when Alpha knew he was an alpha and chose not to tell Omega. I understand that he was afraid their relationship would change, but that very fear shows a lack of trust — and it did change their relationship.

Furthermore, he kept showering Omega with his pheromones as they grew up, making Omega dependent on him. That was a choice, and it was selfish. Alpha chose to “focus” only on the positive aspects of that decision without questioning how it might negatively affect Omega. Yet everything in life has consequences.

Take contraception, for example: it helps regulate hormones and prevent unwanted pregnancy, but it can also cause weight gain, hair loss, blood clots, or “never-ending periods.” There is always a trade-off.

Alpha consciously behaved in a way that served his own interests.

And now I’m supposed to feel sorry because Omega hates Alpha — rightfully — while Alpha has loved Omega since childhood? “Alpha was only acting according to what he thought was best.”

I understand that this is a sad love story. Alpha has only ever had love for Omega. The only way he could remain close to the person he loved was to be objectified, and used and used again. He was close enough to reach him with the tips of his fingers, yet too far to truly touch him — and that’s what makes it painful. The overwhelming nature of memories and emotions, and how they come like whips and cut you deep.

Remember this: “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
