The author messed up the ending. They couldn’t commit to either end, of having her die or to miraculously survive, so they took this cowardly in-between route- and while they might have achieved their goal of shocking the reader, it has also cheapened the story itself.
Right i mean i know there was some foreshadowing in chapter 1 but they could at least round it up to Satoko saying smth like stop crying that was years ago and it showcased their silliness. And at the end some deep message maybe about living your life but that ending..it was sich ah huh?? Moment
