i LOVE this story, but i sort of wish there was more focus on the hayato/ryou pair, and that we'd see more interaction b/t hayato and ryou. i love the painful, forbidden aspect of hayato's love for ryou, and ryou is obviously super adorable, but we see so little interaction between the two that hayato's two years of pining doesn't really resonate...
mostly because with all the BFF backstory that's already there, having it suddenly be he tian / jian yi will be a little like having a rug pulled out from beneath me. plus, i'm a sucker for the best-friend-to-lovers trope. but i'm content with ah-xi and jian yi staying super close friends.
