I have no idea if the logic works in this universe, but children born from incest relationships tends to have mental and physical disabilities... Shouldn't this be a problem? (⊙…⊙ )
They're insane. So mental illness. I mean Hugo did say that killing calms his blood, maybe that's an indirect way of the author saying that "Hey so this guy can only be calmed down by letting fresh warm blood which is like how 1000x worse of how u normally calm down people with sever mental illness". Plus the late dukes were abusive and rash (Yall did u not see their dad, if he's like that, so his father maybe is like that too.) This why the original Hugo was considered a failure cuz that guy is a soft as cotton candy while this new Hugo is the perfect one (Mentaly and Physicaly perfect). Also the Taran family has this rule of killing barbarians a little, let them populate , don't destroy their core and dont let them have a leader. Cuz they use barbarians raids to hide their nasty murder frenzy.
Wow, I can't believe how many people can't accept this (relatively) mature conception of reality in this story.
I really like the plot. She understands that, even if he suffered about rejection and the curse altogether, he can't forget that he is royalty and she is a commoner. He was beginning to turn possessive over her to the point that he could stain the rest of their lives if they stayed together. He needed to mature, if she stayed there any longer, he could make a huge mistake in the name of love.
That's what I think people aren't getting in this plot, their situation isn't something to be reckless in the name of love. She didn't want to be his lover instead the FL, she just didn't want him to die in such a horrible way. He is still royalty, and needs to act as such.( ̄へ ̄)
I'm so confused with some readers here. She clearly suffered something with him in the past, something horrible that aggraveted what she already had. Still, some readers want to her to end up with him just because the other guy is a womanizer. Do you guys think that obsession is forgivable once it didn't kill her? ( 6︿6)
Sorry, but I dare to disagree.
[Spoilers from the raws]
He is pitiful because he has a beauty complex and that caused to him detest himself, instead of accepting it and maybe using it in his favor (like various comics/mangas with princes that are more pretty than even the FL). She showed him a bit of affection out of pure tenderness and liked him for who he was (emphasis on *was*). And that triggered his obsession. Nobody could have her, nobody could approach her. And when she broke up with him, he tried to attack the one who was meddling with their love. Her only mother. And then he did (or tried to) something even more horrible with Cian, but that I won't tell because it's too far ahead and I don't like to give too much spoilers.
Welp girls, we were baited ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
